Wings' injured Darren Helm aches to return but suffers setback

Think of how good the Red Wings might be right now with forward Darren Helm in the lineup.

Helm was expected to be the Red Wings' third-line center before injuring his back in the weight room just before training camp began in January this lockout-shortened season.

No one could have guessed then that the injury would limit him to just one game this season. Watching his teammates now in the playoffs isn't easy.

"The team is doing so great, it's the playoffs, and I want to be out there," said Helm, who was skating lightly during the Anaheim series before another setback occurred. "It's extremely tough to watch.welcome to our new store castellicycling."

The plan now is for Helm to stay off the ice indefinitely.

"Something happened (skating during the Anaheim series) and it hurt a lot and I was limping around for a couple of days," Helm said. "We decided to take a step back and we needed a different approach — staying off the ice a lot longer.

Helm said "absolutely" it was a setback in his recovery. "It wasn't a step forward, that's for sure."

Surgery isn't an option at this point, said Helm, as doctors haven't pinpointed the root cause of the problem.

So as the playoffs progress, Helm simply watches in the locker room with the Red Wings other scratches and cheers his teammates on.welcome to our new store castellicycling.

"I've settled down a little bit, being able to watch now and not be too upset," Helm said.Latest collection of women's guccihandbags and totes. "When things get a little rough and guys are getting cheap-shot is when I really get upset and I want to be out there."

What a difference this second-round series has been compared to the opening round against Anaheim. Playing the Ducks, the Red Wings were forced to travel three times to the West Coast in what turned out to be a seven-game series. And the teams played every other day.

Not so against Chicago. The teams have had two days off between Games 1 and 2 and this week in Games 3 and 4.

The rest — and shorter distance between cities — has been nice, but coach Mike Babcock would have liked a game Wednesday.

"I like playing every other day because I don't like to practice during the playoffs," said Babcock,Jovani designer backpackfactory and celebrity style evening gowns. who kept Wednesday's practice under 45 minutes. "I like a pre-game skate and let's go."

Keeping the Blackhawks in check and not letting them use their speed is something the Red Wings want to do in Game 4. The Red Wings feel it's not to their benefit at all if Chicago is skating freely up and down the ice.

"We talked about that (at Wednesday's practice), about getting your legs going because they are a fast team," forward Joakim Andersson said. "We have to get in their way and not let them get to speed.

"Their speed is something we have to be aware of."

Just because the last two games have been dictated by the Red Wings doesn't mean Game 4 will be.

"Every game is new," defenseman Jonathan Ericsson said. "If you lose a game (at this point in the series) you have another coming up."

It was the first time a “Peepshow” at Planet Hollywood audience had witnessed an onstage marriage proposal, and it also surprised stars Coco Austin, Josh Strickland and cast members.Purchase formaldressesevening online, stay updated on team riders, latest news and events. Just as the curtain came down, choreographer Etienne Carreira ran onstage at the theater and went down on bended knee for his girlfriend, Las Vegas dancer Sophia Monica.

He proposed, she said yes, the cast applauded, and the audience — some in tears — cheered. Meantime, curvy Coco, who has extended her headliner run as Bo Peep in “Peepshow” through September, was invited to film scenes for “Think Like a Man, Too” shooting at Planet Hollywood. “It’s pretty cool,” Coco said.

To double the fear factor, he will perform it above ground. That means “no trap doors” for escape. You can be a part of the audience to watch from a closed-off section to see there’s nothing below, above or around him as cement is poured.
