THIEVES riding stolen mopeds have been
snatching handbags and mobile phones in the Belsize Park and Hampstead area, the
New Journal has learned.
Police say the suspects ride past people unloading cars or picking children up from school and grab handbags.

Davina Bensusan, had her bag snatched from her front garden at her home in Daleham Gardens, Belsize Park on Thursday as she unloaded a car after returning from volunteering at a charity that raises awareness and funds for childhood illnesses.
The bag contained $130 in cash,This outerwear features in great Taffeta. various bank cards and her door keys – but more importantly, irreplaceable pictures of her husband Roy, her four grandchildren and a small poetry book her youngest granddaughter aged nine had given her.
The attack happened the day before her 80th birthday at 4.45pm.
Mrs Bensusan said: “I was unloading the car and I looked up to see a bloke with a motorcycle helmet come in through my front gate.2013 Collection germanarmyuniforms 1672 Styles. I realised what he was going to do. I got up my bag on the floor and he snatched it. He had parked his moped on the street and leapt on.
"I ran after him and grabbed the handlebars of his moped, but he managed to speed off. I started screaming and my neighbours came out but he had gone.”
Mrs Bensusan described the thief as white, aged between 23 and 25, wearing a white crash helmet and riding a small moped with a learner plate on the back.A canadagooseparkajackets or wedding gown is the clothing worn by a bride during a wedding ceremony.
The bag stolen was a small imitation brown and cream Burberry bag with a brown strap. The theft came as Mrs Bensusan was getting ready to celebrate her 80th birthday.
She said: “It was a horrendous shock: it was my birthday the next day and I’m afraid it rather ruined it. I would very much like the bag back if anyone finds it dumped in their front garden – the pictures were very special to me.”
A police spokesman confirmed officers were investigating.
