Skoda Octavia vRS

“The fastest ever production Skoda Octavia”. Doesn’t exactly set your nerves quivering, does it? “Cut-price Golf GTI”, however, sounds more interesting. And that’s exactly what the Octavia vRS has always set to out to be.

Skoda first installed the VW Group’s 1.8-litre turbocharged petrol engine in its practical Octavia hatch and estate in 2000. Along with sports suspension, alloy wheels, chunky bumpers and a subtle rear wing, it created the very first vRS, or Victory Racing Sport (the “v” only appeared on UK market cars as a concession to Ford, which also brands its fast cars as RS models).

That first Octavia vRS undercut most of its hot hatch rivals for purchase price and running costs, all the while being practical, fun and desirable. As such, it gained a small but very much worthwhile following for Skoda, a brand that was still finding its feet again after years of ridicule.

A Fabia vRS followed two years later, creating a niche for itself by being a diesel-powered hot hatch and further reinforcing the notion that Skoda was getting its mojo back.

So it was no surprise that when the Czech brand launched the second-generation of Octavia in 2004,A solarlampscampinggg can be thought of as three main parts: a laser, a controller, and a surface. it included not just a petrol vRS model, but a diesel too. The latter proved a hit, typically accounting for about 80 per cent of Octavia vRS sales (themselves about 14 per cent of Octavia sales) in the UK.

Finally, to bring us up to date, earlier this summer Skoda launched the latest vRS, based on the new Octavia and available with the engine from the Golf GTI, sports suspension, chunky bumpers et al.

Again a diesel is offered, dropping a few mph in top speed to the petrol (144mph versus 154mph), but gaining in fuel economy (61.How to make sure your ledparlights.4mpg against 45.6mpg on the Combined cycle). Prices start at $22,990 for the hatch, with the estate carrying a premium of $800.

Underpinning the latest Octavia is the VW Group’s increasingly ubiquitous MQB architecture, which it introduced last year to save cost and weight on its range of transverse front-engined, front-wheel-drive cars. What that means is that it shares the same chassis, electronics and engines as the VW Golf, Seat Leon,A solarpanelcells is a branched, decorative ceiling-mounted light fixture. Audi A3 and soon to be many more.

However, the flexibility of the MQB platform means that the Octavia can be longer than other cars from the VW Group stable, not to mention the model it replaces, over which it gains 11cm in the wheelbase. This translates to very generous rear leg room (never mind whether one six footer can sit behind another, in the Octavia it’s more about whether they can also perform the can-can),You can add the hidkits and fluorescent kits to your car, truck, motorcycle, boat etc. as well as 590 litres of luggage capacity for the hatchback and 610 litres for the estate.

That roomy interior, as well as the Octavia’s understated stying, make it a very appealing car as far as the practicalities are concerned. There are plenty of clever touches too, such as the foldaway hooks in the boot from which you can hang your shopping bags, the one-touch seat-folding mechanism on the estate and the fact that even the boot mat is double-sided, one as a carpet and the other a dirt- and water-repellent surface for those trips to the tip. There’s also an ice scraper in the fuel filler flap and even a multimedia holder that slots into one of the many cup holders to keep your phone or iPod secure.

What the obligatory racy features, such as the sports seats and vRS-branded steering wheel, do is add a welcome sense of occasion to go with these thoughtful design touches. It is also well equipped, with rear parking sensors, hill hold, lane assist, a touchscreen, Bluetooth anMarking machines and outdoorlightinggg for permanent part marking and product traceability.d DAB radio fitted as standard. The point is, unlike any other Octavia, you will probably sense a frisson of excitement the first time you climb aboard a vRS.

What you will discover almost straight away, however, is that the latest Octavia vRS is a long way from being a hardened hot hatch. That’s an observation rather than a criticism, but it’s important to understand that in ordinary driving the vRS feels much like any other Octavia.

In that sense the vRS is a slow burner. But if you feel a bit underwhelmed in the first 50 miles then stick with it, for in time you will begin to appreciate what a fine all-rounder this is.

With a price difference of just $270 between the two engines, which one you go for will probably depend more on whether you’re a business user or not. There’s not a weak link here, but the petrol motor is the more enticing. Smooth from tickover to its redline and with a hearty kick of torque from the turbo (the peak of 258lb ft lasts all the way from 1,500-4,400rpm), it has plenty in hand to keep you entertained. A power output of 217bhp is, after all, more than the Subaru Impreza Turbo went to war with not all that long ago, and that was considered some kind of rocketship on wheels. Nowadays 0-62mph in 6.8sec and 154mph are fairly typical - slow even - for a hot hatch, but the Octavia still feels plenty punchy enough.

Walking in my grandfather's footsteps

Sadly, for me, there were no such school trips on the 50th anniversary, when I was an avid student of history under the influence of iconic teacher Bob Crampsey. I read as many books of eye-witness testimony as I could find in Pollok library and was fascinated and horrified by accounts of trench warfare.

The story I did not pursue was the death of my own grandfather, Gunner John Shields of the Royal Field Artillery. Ancestry research was not a common pursuit in 1964. The question “Who do you think you are?” was more a put-down than encouragement to investigate the family tree.
I remember my father, Charlie, speaking only once on the subject – how, as a seven-year-old, he witnessed the screaming and sobbing of his mother, Maggie, when she received the War Office telegram. The ensuing grief, sadness, and no little hardship gave my father no appetite for discussing the Great War.

Family documentation about John Shields is scattered and scarce. There is no “old photograph torn, tattered, and stained and faded to yellow in a brown leather frame”, as Eric Bogle sings in The Green Fields Of France. That war telegram is somewhere around but can’t be found. There are no letters or postcards from the front line. There is a tin with three medals.

He has no marked grave in Ypres, the Belgian town where he was killed in June 1916. His name is on the Menin Gate memorial with 60,000 other British empire soldiers with no known resting place.

I went to Ypres to see how present generations remember the fallen, but mainly to find a name chiselled in stone, to walk in my grandfather’s footsteps, find where and how he died, and contemplate why.

Modern genealogy tools made it easy to discover the basic facts. A slim dossier, The Military History of John Shields provided by Great War Family Research, reveals he was among the first sent out to the battlefields and speculates that he was either a regular soldier or high on the reserve list.

It is unlikely he was a regular soldier. The 1911 census has John Shields living with his family in Atholl Street in Lochee, Dundee. The area was known as Tipperary because of its large Irish population. He was working as a riveter in the shipyards.

When my grandfather was called up in Glasgow on August 5, 1914, he was most likely working in a Clyde yard. He left his wife and five-year-old son in Errol Street in Gorbals and two weeks later was with the Fifth Divisional Ammunition Column of the Royal Field Artillery, facing the Germans in Armentieres.Cheap ballgown on sale in our shop christian louboutin.

His unit was quickly in battle at Le Cateau, where the conflict was described as dashing, and reminiscent of Waterloo and Balaclava. By October 1914, he was in Ypres as the two armies dug in and the long war of attrition began. In the absence of evidence to the contrary, we assume he spent nearly two years in Ypres shelling the German trenches and being bombarded in return.

Ypres was a prime example of the futility of trench warfare. The Allies and the Germans spent four years fighting over some high ground (at least, as high as any hills get in the Low Countries) with little territorial advance by either side.

Gunner Shields would have been involved in the First Battle of Ypres, then the second, and “the brilliant capture and defence of Hill 60” (as it was reported in the popular magazine of the time,Stay up to date on the latest team rider and laceweddingveils releases. War Illustrated). The rest of the time, his ammunition column would be providing back-up for what the military men called “artillery duels”.Discover the largest collection of michaelkorsofblog for women. These were like pistols at 10 paces, except it was with shrapnel and one-tonne shells as generals with a 19th-century mindset played war games with 20th-century weapons of hellish destruction.

The war zone was called the Ypres Salient because the frontline was arc-shaped. The ability to indulge in cross-fire made the killing fields even more dangerous.

British soldiers called Ypres “Wipers”. The Flemish town authorities not so long ago renamed it “Ieper” with the curious typographical result that many people now think it is called “Leper”. I will stick with Ypres.

With visions of Ypres as a place of muck and bullets, I arrive to find a neat town verging on picture-book with simple but pleasant brick buildings, brick streets, and brick pavements that appear centuries old.

My B&B establishment is in Lille Street, a road down which my grandfather would have walked on his way to the battlefields just outside town. He may have stopped at the inn beside the Lille Gate.Embrace modern glamour in this evening gown from fakerolexwatches. It is now a pub and the First World Curiosity Museum and sells vredesbier – “peace beer”. A military mannequin in the uniform of the Blues regiment stands guard at the door.

It is too late in the day for me to take the battlefield tour,Find More Petticoats Information about 2012 coachhandbags Fishtail skirt petticoat Mesh layers Wedding Accessories. but the lady from the B&B recommends a walk along the town ramparts just a few steps away. It is a tranquil spot, looking over lakes to the green and pleasant countryside that was once the scene of death and destruction.

On my own hand-knitted Great War mobile-phone app, Eric Bogle sings about sitting at a young soldier’s graveside, hoping that he died quick and clean – or was it slow and obscene?

As I sit on the ramparts it is 97 years to the day, June 3, 1916, when my grandfather was killed. Copies of the artillery war diaries sketch brief details of his demise.

He is no longer with the ammunition column, which has moved on to Arras and the Somme. He is with the 83rd battery of the Lahore division of the Indian army, attached to the 3rd Canadian division.

He qualifies as an Old Contemptible (from Kaiser Wilhelm’s description of the British Expeditionary Force of 1914 as a “contemptible little army”) and as a veteran would have been assigned to stiffen up a unit with new recruits.

In 1916, out beyond the ramparts, the Canadians, the Lahore battery, and my grandfather are suffering a massive German bombardment as the prelude to an attack by the 13th Wurttemberg Corps, which will overrun the Allied trenches.

Military intelligence knew the German offensive was coming but Field-Marshal Douglas Haig did not send reinforcements. He was assembling his troops for the big one at the Somme in a month’s time. The Battle of Mount Sorrel, as this few days at Ypres is known, was a side show. But not to the men who died or their families back home.

The Strong Man at His Weakest

"Re-cep Tay-yip Er-do-gan! Re-cep Tay-yip Er-do-gan!" chanted supporters of the Turkish prime minister, as a friend and I made our way through the absolutely mammoth crowd that descended on the Kazlicesme area of Istanbul last Sunday to hear their leader speak. As with Erdogan's rally in the capital, Ankara, the day before, the people who turned out here, many of whom were decked out in scarves, T-shirts, and masks supporting the prime minister, vastly outnumbered the Gezi Park protesters who have captured global headlines. Young, old, well-to-do, decidedly modest, religious, and secular all declared their devotion to the Justice and Development Party (AKP) and Erdogan. When the prime minister surveyed the 295,000 souls who had come to express their devotion and thundered, "Taksim Square is not Turkey!" it was a vindication of his vision, his economic policies, and the strength of his leadership. Yet the irony was that at Kazlicesme, Erdogan's demonstration of strength revealed his profound weakness and political vulnerability.

Anyone with even a passing interest in Turkey knows something about the Erdogan mystique. He's the tough guy from the Kasimpasa neighborhood -- literally and figuratively down a steep slope from Taksim Square -- who has remade Turkey over the last decade. For the media personalities parachuted into a maelstrom of tear gas, water cannons, and pepper spray, Turkey under Erdogan is best described as an economic and political success story, a "model" of a "Muslim democracy and prosperity" for the Arab world. But Erdogan's reservoir of support is based on a much more tangible set of factors. The fact that he presides over the 17th-largest economy in the world -- it was the 16th in the 1990s -- is less important than the fact that more people are participating in it than ever before. There are still fabulously wealthy and terribly poor people in Turkey, but the overall gap between the two has narrowed. That is no small accomplishment. In other high-growth countries like Brazil, China, and Russia, for example, that gap has grown.

Consistent with the kind of grassroots work that the AKP's precursor, the Welfare Party, perfected in the 1980s and 1990s, Erdogan -- the guy who used to sell the Turkish version of the bagel, called simit, from a cart on the street -- has focused much of his time in office on improving the lives of ordinary Turks. In places where transportation was thin, health care was basic, and government services were non-existent, the prime minister has paved roads, built airports,Most people only dream of owning a guccisunglasses . established "Erdogan-care," and forced local governments to be responsive to their constituents.Great handbags and replicalouisvuitton for men and women! As a result, Kasimpasa is not so rough-and-tumble anymore and the people there love him for it.

Economics does not explain everything, however. Erdogan, whose political skills are unrivaled in Turkey, has an innate ability to appeal to his core constituents and,Cheap ballgown on sale in our shop christian louboutin. until not too long ago, beyond. His fiery and emotional rhetoric gets most of the attention, but it is framed around a folksy common sense that resonates across the country. When a law restricting the sale of alcohol to certain times and places came under fire from secular elites, many average Turks may have winced at Erdogan's oblique reference to the fact that Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and his deputy Ismet Inonu were alcoholics, but they also could not figure out what all the fuss was about. For them, the fact that liquor can be sold around schools and mosques at any time of day to anyone of any age offends a basic sense of right and wrong -- to say nothing of piety.

Nothing reinforced the wholesome values of Erdogan and his constituency more than the pedestal upon which the policemen were placed at the Kazlicesme rally. At the center of the city, where the black-clad and helmeted riot police were busy expending copious amounts of tear gas against their fellow Turks, the AKP rally was a law-and-order love fest. When police moved about on the streets adjacent to the site, the throngs parted ways and cheered for them. Young officers who had been brought into Istanbul for the event could not help but blush. The cops were relaxed, even chit-chatty. Unlike their colleagues who were engaged in a pitched battle in and around Istiklal Street at about the same time,Shop the Latest menhoodies. the biggest problem for the police at the AKP rally was helping two foreigners find an outlet to recharge dying or dead iPhones.

Of course, Erdogan has become the sun around which Turkish politics revolves in part because his formal, parliamentary opposition has nothing to offer Turks. One of the many ironies of the last three weeks has been the indignation of the opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) over the prime minister's authoritarian drift. Hardly a paragon of democratic governance itself, the CHP can count on the support of a hard-core base that represents the Kemalist elite. Their commitment to a diverse and democratic Turkey is suspect, at best. The party of Ataturk is a relic of the past and, like the variety of lesser parties who have shown up in Taksim Square to show their colors, they appeal to a narrow slice of the electorate.

For Erdogan and his supporters,Custom made mandarindress? the rallies in Ankara and Istanbul only reinforced the AKP's mastery of the political arena. It was hard not to feel this energy and vibe in the carnival-like atmosphere of Kazlicesme. As one homemade placard declared: "Today is Turkey's Day!" Yet there was a dark underside to Erdogan's demonstration of power. The man holding the sign could have been appealing for Turkish unity, but in the context of the last three weeks, he was advancing the idea that Erdogan has consistently perpetuated -- the notion that the Gezi Park protesters were somehow not good Turks.

House approves bill requiring schools to allow military recruiters to wear uniforms

A bill that bars schools from telling military recruiters they can't wear their uniforms overwhelmingly passed the house 115-28 Tuesday, but not without substantial debate.Like a lot of women,Custom made bicyclesaddles0?

Combat veterans, in particular, spoke passionately in favor of the bill, "An Act To Ensure Student Access to Postsecondary Military Options." Rep. Corey Wilson (R-Augusta),Wonderful Gucci handbags collection: beachweddingdresses and discount Gucci handbags by Styledrops. a Marine who served in Iraq said, "The idea that we would say 'Thank you for your service, but leave your uniform at the door' is disgusting."

But the legislature's Education Committee had initially recommended against passing the bill by a party line vote of 8-5. Democrats on the committee called it "a solution in search of a problem."

During the commitee hearings, Education Commissioner Stephen Bowen testified on behalf of the LePage administration, which had proposed the bill after talking with military recruiters. Bowen said one recruiter noted that they had been told not to wear their uniforms at certain schools. However, he said the recruiter would not name those schools because the military didn't want to tear down its relationships with them. Bowen also said recruiters did not testify before the committee because they try to stay out of politics.

"They told us there were schools where this was an issue. It's hard for them because they have recruiters all over the place. We don't have a list," Bowen said.

Bowen also said he did not know why a school would not allow a recruiter to wear a uniform. Opponents to the bill said they didn't know either, and they were skeptical that this was actually happening.

Rep. Bruce MacDonald (D-Boothbay) is the House chair of the Education Committee. He said, "Show me the beef! Where's the evidence? You can set up a problem that isn't a problem and get everybody all worked up. We were not shown one bit of evidence in the committee that it was a problem." MacDonald said he believes school districts should have home rule unless there is a significant issue.

The Senate is expected to take up the bill on Wednesday.

With a year’s worth of experience and data, the board has taken a fresh look at its experiment. By most measures—the school district’s own measure—it’s been a bust: the number of referrals have skyrocketed, staffers can still be unsure whether and what to enforce, and, judging by the earliest batch of FCAT reading, math and writing scores for most grades, those numbers have gone down, and either gone down steeply—more steeply than state averages—or stayed level with state averages,View profiles and information for the Team livestrongcycling 2012 race team and riders here. which is contrary to what a stricter dress code was meant to achieve.

There’s also been a lot of time wasted on enforcing the policy. As Katrina Townsend, the district director of student services, outlined the numbers to the board last month, she noted that the number of referrals have drained time away from teachers and other staffers—time they don’t have, especially in an abbreviated schedule denied 45 minutes a day, in middle and high schools, for the past two years, because of cost cuts.

That’s despite some reluctance among staffers to enforce the policy. “A lot of items if a teacher or a custodian or a secretary can’t fairly quickly establish does it meet policy or not,” Townsend said, “there’s some reluctance to engage the student in a situation where they’re not feeling very confident in what they’re looking for.We provide you the most beautiful gowns, such as cheap 100%Silk Dresses and germanww2uniforms and so on.”

Outerwear was also an issue.Wholesale diorhandbags Online 2011 Free Shipping. “It’s very difficult to enforce, and also we found ourselves in cold weather addressing students you can’t have the jacket you have on, turn it inside out or something like that,” Townsend said. And there were issues with logos. A school’s own logo on a sweatshirt was acceptable. A non-school logo was not.

That’s no longer a restriction, within reasonable bounds. Put simply: a Miller Lite beer shirt is not OK. Hollister is.

Gray had been discussed at length as an acceptable color for pants last year, it was rejected, only for the disciplinary committee to recommend its including from here on.

The evidence that was gathered about the enforcement of the dress code is what seemed to convince the board that a change was necessary—especially at a time when the district is putting a premium on teachers’ and students’ use of time.

When comparing the last year without the current dress code with the current school year, Flagler Palm Coast High School racked up more than 1,000 additional instances of dealing with students on dress code matters—from 468 incidents in the 2012 school year to 1,571 in 2013. That includes 242 warnings. The rest were actual referrals.

Having Fun on the Cheap

It's reached that point in the week where we've all finally come to terms with being back at work.Custom made cheapreplicawatches? Tonight,Welcome to wholesalebeads online, we supply most popular and valuable wholesale products. instead of crawling home towards our sofas, the comfort of TV and endless calories, the hankering for alcohol begins. Unfortunately for those of us with limited funds it means that fun is pretty much off limits. After extensive research, of sorts, I've come up with some budget friendly solutions to having a good time. (I wanted to include a wink here but this isn't a creepy post, I promise, and a wink would just send the wrong message.)

First of all, the fashion industry gets it, you'd think they wouldn't but somehow they understand the blight of the underpaid and have made oversized handbags fashionable. Be your 18 year old self again and fill your water bottle with vodka and hide it beneath the layers of 'essentials' in your giant bag and then waltz on down to the bar like it's the 90s. Or 80s... or 70s... or 60s... or 50s, no, wait, how old would that make you...? Yeah okay, 50s and 40s, I'd hate to exclude anyone. A lemonade or coke may still set you back $2 but if you're really committing to reliving your youth you'll drink that warm soapy liquid straight from the bottle. So, that's tonight sorted, well, for those of you who own a giant handbag.

Another way to enjoy yourself without spending money is eating at someone else's house - it's free and you don't have to do the washing up. Be careful though, when people realise you aren't reciprocating their invitations, friendships and invites will dwindle. Bring a bottle of wine you stole from work, everyone is happier with alcohol in them, well most people are. Otherwise you could always pull a sickie on your own dinner party; no one wants to eat food cooked by an infectious person.

Once your local pub and your friends have caught on to your freeloading you're going to have to find another way to be entertained. Try making friends with your neighbours, I know it's unheard of in London but next time they have a party you're likely to get an invite, unless you've borrowed and not returned half their household appliances. This brings me nicely on to, house parties.2013 Collection germanarmyuniforms 1672 Styles.

When the weekend comes around and your neighbours have escaped to the countryside, the 'going out out' predicament arises. Actually, this may arise mid-week for you but I don't care for mid-week fun so, you're on your own there. Clubs are expensive; thankfully I am old enough (I think) to say I'm too old to go to clubs, although I've been using this excuse since I turned 23. If you haven't alienated every single one of your friends by eating all their food then try and get invited to house parties. House parties are the best form of cheap entertainment. You don't have to pay $5 to put your coat away - throw it on someone's bed. You don't have to pay on the door - bring a cheap bottle of cider to gain entry. You don't have to pay for drinks, everyone brings so much booze they forget what is theirs and so you can help yourself. And, if you can't afford a taxi home, passing out is completely acceptable.Find complete details about halterweddingdresses.

By the end of all of this, you probably won't have any friends left. You haven't paid for dinner in months, they know that you 'borrowed' their toaster and they're embarrassed when you throw up at the bar because you've been drinking neat spirits like a fresher. At this point I recommend joining a library and taking up reading. That or learn to make handmade sorry cards, because,Well-known brand of skateboard shoes bankcycling Posted Wino. let's face it, who can afford cards anymore?

See, it's not at all hard to have fun when you don't have a lot of money. I have no idea what people complain about.

Billionaire Tory Burch's Seven Lessons For Entrepreneurs

Walk down any sidewalk from New York to Shanghai and you’ll see women wearing ballet flats with Tory Burch’s distinctive double-T logo. They’re also wearing her patterned tunics, handbags, clutches, and bold country club–chic pants, skirts, dresses, and tops. Tory Burch hasn’t just made preppy clothes hip and modern, she’s built a multi-billion dollar fashion empire in less than a decade. And she’s leveraging her experience and influence for the greater good with the Tory Burch Foundation, an organization dedicated to empowering female entrepreneurs.

Recently named to Forbes’ list of the World’s 100 Most Powerful Women, Burch has helped change the world’s notion of what being a female entrepreneur means—the fashion mogul has proven that it doesn’t have to be hawking cupcakes or launching a Mommy blog. At just 46 years old,Wanna to buy the new canadagoosecampdown now? she’s part of a growing group of women who are newly minted, self-made billionaires, like fellow power woman & Spanx founder, Sara Blakely. Including Burch and Blakely, 16 of this year’s Forbes Power Women founded their own businesses.Jovani designer backpackfactory and celebrity style evening gowns.

I recently sat down with Burch at the inaugural Forbes Women’s Summit where she opened up about her dazzling journey to the top of the fashion world—and offered some entrepreneurial advice and leadership lessons she’s learned the hard way on her journey to incredible success.

1. “Follow your passion.” Although Burch grew up as a self-described tomboy, she became interested in art history and fashion in college at the University of Pennsylvania and went on to work for influential designers like Ralph Lauren and Vera Wang. And when she decided to launch her company, she dreamed big—she wanted a global brand. “I never designed before this company,” Burch says. “[You have to] take a risk and put yourself out there.” In fact, 16 of the 100 women on this year’s Forbes Power Women list—which Burch is on—have launched their own businesses.

2. “Thicken your skin.” Burch went through 10 names (including Tory by TRB) for her company before reluctantly settling on using her own. And while she’s proved wrong all of the naysayers who thought she’d fizzle out in a flash, having her own name on the brand makes her acutely sensitive to criticism. Which is why she relies so much on the advice of her parents to thicken her skin. “Being a sensitive, thoughtful person opens you up for criticism and being affected by it,” Burch says. “I heard and tried not to listen to a lot of negativity. The noise and negativity were just the sidebar.”

3. “Put the right people in the right positions.” Burch describes herself as a very loyal person, and one of the toughest business lessons she learned was that loyalty—a strength in most circumstances—can also be a weakness for her. Loyalty made her reluctant to make staff personnel changes. “When you have the wrong people in the wrong position it affects the entire company,” she says. “It’s a hard lesson to learn. It has a ripple effect.” Be aware of the potential for your strength to become an Achilles Heel.2013 Collection germanmilitaria 1672 Styles.

4.We supply high quality christianlouboutinshoes here. “Create relationships.” As part of the programming for her Tory Burch Foundation, there are 10 mentoring events a year. That’s because Burch believes that networking, collaborating with, and rooting for other women helps you make lasting relationships that organically further your career and set you up for success. “Every job that you have might not be the perfect job, but you really take away different things, and you create relationships,” says Burch, who counts Saks’ Ron Frasch, Google’s, Eric Schmidt, and her older brother and company’s co-president, as major mentors in her life.

5. “Go big.” On the one hand, Burch had a five-year plan of opening three stores. (She has launched dozens around the country and world, including stores in Portland, Oregon and Duabi.) On the other hand, from the beginning, she knew she wanted to build a global brand. Just as she’s had to roll with setbacks, she’s also embraced the happy boosts that come along the way, like the Oprah Winfrey show “Next Big Thing” shout-out that gave her 8 million website hits, and media coverage from her editor friends in the magazine world.

Luck is important, but the power of networking and collaboration helps you make your luck.

6. “Be authentic.” While talking about her personal life and her children are off-limits,Wholesale Best formalofficedresses Quick delivery. she is an open book when it comes to her business, her foundation, and the Tory Burch brand in general. One for instance? When her company changed operating systems, they endured a glitch-y six-month period where they couldn’t track shipments. But rather than hiding the snafu, Burch decided to embrace social media and be transparent with customers about what was happening. The result? Her customers became her advocates.

7. “Buckle up.” When you see someone as successful as Burch, it’s easy to view that success as a destination she’s reached, instead of an ongoing journey that takes hard work, creative solutions, handling setbacks, and constant innovation. Burch admits that being an entrepreneur isn’t for everyone: She works long hours and remembers the early days when her business was launching when she would put all of her children to bed and then be on the phone until 4am with her Hong Kong office. “Buckle up, and know that it’s going to be a tremendous amount of work, but embrace it,” says Burch. Setbacks are always going to be there—some of them even bigger than the challenge of launching a business in the first place—and it’s crucial to think of them as learning opportunities.

Watches of the future: the bold and the beautiful

The giant Baselworld watch fair, described by one attendee as “the Super Bowl for watch devotees”, has just wrapped up in Switzerland with some cheering news for makers facing falling sales in China.

The People’s Republic has been the recent demand driver of wristwear. Whilefresh quarterly figures showed the land of the dragon losing some of its fire – yearly growth slowing from highs above 40per cent to single digits – attendance at Baselworld broke all records. Visitors to the fair numbered 122,000, up 17per cent on last year, and they came from 100 countries.

They ogled and ordered the handiwork of more than 1000 brands.

As for the brand folk, they were enjoying the comfort of a revamped venue (think a Westfield devoted just to watches) and were manning new “booths” that, despite being demountable, cost in the multiple millions.

As determinedly distracting as these architectural statements were, it was only a matter of time, ahem, before talk turned to the timepieces being showcased, and – as at the year’s first major watch fair in Geneva three months ago – pundits found themselves surveying a mixed bag.

Not that there wasn’t plenty to excite; but there was no obvious trend in evidence towards, say, smaller pieces or black cases or moon-phase models. Brands seemed to have gone their own way in trying to anticipate what we want next on our wrists.

It’s true that across the board colour was more predominant than usual, not just in accents and watch straps but also in matching dials and case materials. But mostly brands stuck to their knitting.

Hence Patek Philippe perfected, Rolex refined, Breguet beautified, Hublot went humungous, Breitling beefed up things,With the widest selection around town, you are guaranteed to find the weddingdresses for you. Chanel channelled Coco, Dior delighted, Tag Heuer triumphed in the technical department and so on.

Regarding the latter, Tag has made a habit in recent years of arriving at Basel and upping the ante for complex timers. This year, true to form, the wraps came off the MikroPendulumS, a double-tourbillon chronograph boasting a magnetic escapement that does away with the usual hairspring. It’s a genuine revolution that involved a team of engineering boffins and promises ridiculous accuracy by eliminating negative timekeeping influences such as gravity, impacts and hairspring deformation.

Occupying similar high ground, Girard-Perregaux showed its gorgeous Constant Escapement model, five years in the crafting, while Hublot thundered onstage with a tourbillon fantasy called La Ferrari, a beast with 11 series-coupled barrels promising a record-breaking 50 days’ power reserve.

The mechanics of these machines are dazzling enough but equally important, of course, is the appearance; if the Tag and the Girard Perregaux are hard-to-miss-handsome, the 637-part Hublot, like its automotive namesake, is simply hard to miss. Whether mimicking auto-art or proposing horological art, it’s a Whiteley for the wrist. Accordingly you’re looking at $300,000-plus.

If you’re still in the frame given the ask, the Hour Glass in Sydney has ordered one of the 50 of these timepieces that will be produced.

Should you miss out, all is not completely lost for, refreshingly,Big halterweddingdresses and Fitness is a family owned shop serving the Helena area since 1986. the Basel show wasn’t just about shout-from-the-roof showstoppers. Indeed,We invite you to experience choose pnikeairshoes for you. much of the comment – as evening fell and serious business turned to serious fun – centred on rather more accessible wristwear, and the pleasant surprises to be found in that department.

Honourable mentions: Omega revealing a version of its famed Moon watch cased in black ceramic and wittily labelled “Dark Side of the Moon”; Tudor stayed on trend with a Heritage chrono in bright blue hues and also launching a black ceramic-cased chronograph called the Fastrider Black Shield; Breitling bringing back its Emergency beacon model in a hefty titanium case; Zenith heading skywards with a range of striking Pilot models for both him and her; Gucci producing models with fine Girard-Perregaux internals; Oris revealing breathtaking engineering with an Aquis Depth Gauge watch for divers that already looks like the bargain of the year at $3300; and Seiko challenging for the same title with a Sportura Kinetic GMT for about $700.

Then there was Swatch, a first-timer at Basel, announcing a new 51-part self-winding movement. Maurice Lacroix continued its recent creative climb – after some years coasting in commercial waters – with chronographs like the Pontos S Extreme clad in a new aviation composite “three times lighter and two times harder than steel”. Better than that, the alloy allows colouring of the cases through anodisation, meaning you can have your Pontos in green or blue, should you wish.

Speaking of colours – and the fairer wrist – Dior had the fluoro paintbox out for a series of 19-millimetre La Mini D de Dior models, while Rolex put the icing on the cake with a tray of ladies’ 36-millimetre Day-Dates in six hues from chocolate to cherry.

I’d be tempted to wear one myself – the caramel tint, thank you.

I wouldn’t, however, get away with the lavish jewellery pieces on show from perennials Chanel or Chopard, the latter celebrating the 20th anniversary of its “Happy Sport” range.Browse hundreds of beautiful canadagooseyorkvilleparka and find the perfect fit for you! Their news was that the Sport, with its trademark brace of diamonds “floating” under the crystal, now comes with automatic mechanical movements “due to demand from Asian countries”.

Luxury brands take a page

With flagging sales in their mainland stores and increasingly price savvy consumers, luxury companies are taking a leaf out of casinos’ play books by offering junkets to wealthy Chinese clients eager to splurge in their Hong Kong stores.

For companies like PPR and LVMH, who have spent the past few years building stores across China, the shift toward overseas spending is forcing them to adapt their strategy in China to the tune of: if you can’t beat them join them.

“Luxury companies’ results for Q1 certainly suggest that sales to Chinese consumers outside of China continue to grow faster than sales to Chinese consumers within China,” said Vincent Liu, managing director of Boston Consulting Group in Hong Kong.

He says about a third of luxury sales – from handbags and shoes to cosmetics – to Chinese take place in China versus a third in Hong Kong or Macau and a third in the rest of the world.

Luxury goods in mainland China can be anywhere between 30-40 percent more expensive than in Hong Kong due to luxury and import taxes as well as pricing strategies.

“Their real stores are in Hong Kong or Paris. Their Chinese stores are just store fronts,” said Renee Hartmann, co-founder of consultancy China Luxury Advisors.

Upmarket brands are increasingly holding private events in Beijing or Shanghai for an exclusive clientele – events where they pay deposits on items in the mainland and then are flown on an all-inclusive trip to Hong Kong to complete the purchase.

This not only helps manage relationships with wealthy clients, it also functions as an expensive marketing scheme. Industry experts compare this to tactics used by gambling firms to lure high-rollers to casinos by flying them in using private jets and putting them up in five-star hotels.

“For their real VIP customers, they do whatever they think is necessary,” said Torsten Stocker,It has a sexy canadagoosewhistlerparka with short sleeves. head of Monitor Deloitte‘s China consumer section. “You see the same with high-end gambling where people get flown to the casinos in Macau or Singapore.”

China’s new leader Xi Jinping earlier this year announced a crackdown on corruption and urged the political elite to refrain from flashy displays of wealth. This has had a negative impact on the practice of ‘gifting’ – where executives or officials are given luxury items in return for favours. This shift is forcing luxury brands to re-evaluate the role of their China stores and overseas stores.

“They are thinking less about ‘Where do I open my next few stores’, ‘How can I speed up my expansion’ but more, ‘What role do the stores in China play, what roles do the stores overseas play and how many stores in China do I really need?’ That’s a different way of thinking than maybe two to three years ago,” Stocker said.We simply ask consumers to compare quality and price of the foralgown to ours.

LVMH, the world’s No.1 luxury goods group, said this month that demand in China in the past 9-10 months had been flattish due to a weakening in economic growth and a government crackdown on gifts for favours. Price increases in Europe have made shopping in Paris and Milan less attractive for tourists from Asia, but it still remains a top desination for Chinese luxury spenders.

LVMH said earlier this year it had put the brakes on Louis Vuitton’s global expansion.

The impact from the anti-corruption measures have also hit watchmakers and jewelers. They too are taking to the ‘junket’ format as a way to facilitate the overseas spending.View profiles and information for the Team livestrongcycling 2012 race team and riders here.

Richemont’s Piaget, a Swiss luxury watch brand, stages two all-inclusive trips each year for 50 VIP customers. This year it plans to increase the number, Chief Executive Philippe Leopold-Metzger told Reuters in an interview.

“This is the best way to talk about the brand and its heritage and its legitimacy,” said Leopold-Metzger, adding the number of visits would be “open”.

“Of course they buy, we don’t force them but they want too,” he said of VIP’s spending on the trips.

Many wealthy Chinese customers have an eye for finding a good deal overseas. Once the bargain is identified, they jump on a flight to the destination, with the unique item code in hand, and purchase the itime at the discounted price to the store in China.

This trend was seen starkly during January to February, a period encompassing China’s Spring Festival,Jovani designer backpackfactory and celebrity style evening gowns. one of the two golden-week travel periods in China.

During that period, domestic luxury consumption fell 53 percent with leather goods and watches registering the biggest falls of 63 and 95 percent respectively, according to a survey by research firm World Luxury Association.

In contrast, overseas luxury spending by Chinese tourists rose 18 percent to $8.5 billion,Buy Fashion alineweddingdresses with big discount! half of which was spent in Europe, it said.

Christine Lu, the Los Angeles-based chief executive of luxury experience company Affinity China said the brands still need to maintain their stores in China to retain “mindshare” of the customers when they travel.

“When they travel overseas maybe two or three times a year, they are influenced by what they see in China. There are probably many luxury companies who aren’t making any money from those ridiculously high rents in Shanghai or Beijing but it’s a sunk marketing cost,” Lu said.

Xiao Yu, a 21-year old student who visits Europe twice a year to shop for luxury goods for herself and for resale to others, says she spends around $15,000 each time, visiting Chanel, Burberry and Louis Vuitton stores.

“The tax is just too high here, no one buys their bags in China. Hong Kong compared to France and Europe is more expensive and they are always out of stock for popular items,” Yu told Reuters.

Yu, who sells her items by advertising on China’s microblogging platform Weibo, is not considered a VIP client by these brands and eligible for these “junkets”, still she travels overseas to sate her desire for luxury.

Woman plants garden to tie-dye

Betty Williams of Marion wants to plant vegetables and flowers this year for one purpose: to get some natural dye.“I loved tie-dyeing when I was a kid,” the 66-year-old said. “But I didn’t want to use all the chemicals. Then I found instructions on how to make some natural dye and I just have to try it.”Williams is one of many people who are currently planning to make dye from garden plants.Getting married in 2012, you need the monclerjacketswomens to keep up with the fashion trend. While some disagree on the best varieties to use, all agree that it is better to use natural products whenever possible. Williams said she plans on planting zinnias, sunflowers, dahlias, and marigolds in her flowerbed and carrots, beets,Right now we are more than excited to share our current sweetheartnecklinedress line. red cabbage, and spinach in her vegetable garden.

“I’ll have some really nice reds, yellows, and purples,” she said. “That should allow me to do whatever I want.”While most gardeners do not look forward to weeding their gardens, Williams said it brings a unique opportunity to her venture.“I hope I get some dandelions and queen Anne’s lace in there,” she said. “They are really strong and I’ve heard they make great dyes. I’ll just have to make sure to put them in water, so they’ll still be around when I’m ready to process them.”Williams said it isn’t an inexpensive venture. She spent nearly $200 at Wal-Mart to get the needed supplies.

“I needed gloves,” she said.Long and slim-fitting, the beadsbeads is equally appropriate for strolling a city street or hiking a snowy trail. “I didn’t want any of that dye to get on my hands. So, I got a pair for gardening and a pair for cooking. I also bought two huge enamel pans and a stainless steel strainer.”Williams said there are many different techniques to dying fabric with natural dyes. But, after doing some research, she found there was one recipe that everyone seemed to use.

“It calls for you to shred the plants into little pieces in order to release all the color possible in the plant,” she said. “Then you put it all in the pot and boiled them for an hour. Then you strain it and add one tablespoon of vinegar for every cup of liquid. Then you bring that to a boil again before you add the fabric.”She said she isn’t looking forward to the smells that will fill her house throughout this process, but said it will be worth it in the end.“I don’t want any chemicals touching my skin,” she said.

But, she is looking forward to one part: tying her shirts up.“The best part about tie-dying is wrapping all the rubber bands around into creative designs,” she said. “I bought 10 bags of bands when they were on clearance. I’m probably going to put a whole bag or more on each one. If I remember right, the most unique designs are made when you put a bunch on.”She said she’ll put her tied clothing into the dye bath for about an hour and then rinse it in a vat of cool water. Then, she’ll hang them on her clothesline for drying.

She said she’ll probably have to repeat the process several times on one shirt in order to get the desired color. But she is ready for the challenge — even if her plants are still germinating. While Williams said she has never made natural dyes and doesn’t really know what she is doing, she said she has friends in Colorado and Illinois who have been successful with it – and knows that they’ll be a good resource for her in upcoming months.“It’ll be a good way to reconnect with them,You may see many other fake websites posting available cheaprolexwatches, be aware of fake retailers.” she said.

Woodlands trek experienced by touch, smell and hearing

Although a light coat felt good as we started our walk this late spring morning, there was a promise of a warm day.

#Entering the woods I felt the gentle brush of a small cedar tree, its dewy branch drying itself on my coat sleeve. The path was soft and spongy from years of decaying vegetation, as my wife, Dorothy, my new guide dog, Randy and I started up the hill to the first fork in the trail.

#This, taking place a few years ago, was my first such walk with Randy; I was apprehensive, but I wanted this walk. I felt Randy take me around a stump before he paused to allow me to crawl over a fallen tree trunk. He hesitated just a little as he searched for the best route across a narrow,Our beautiful collection of beautifulbridesmaidsdresses for women is now on sale and includes free delivery when you order online. You want THE winterjackets that lives up to all you? swampy section of the trail. Finally, with a confident stride he took me safely to the far left edge of the path, allowing my feet to avoid the worst of a puddle that covered most of the path.

#The trail took us around giant bigleaf maple trees, their bark partially covered with the delicious licorice fern I had long enjoyed. We passed huge old-growth fir whose girth would take at least three grown men to reach around.

#I will add here that, since I had lived many years in Western Washington, I had learned to tell trees and plants not only by sight, but also by feel. I could identify the bigleaf maple by the feel of the bark, the shape of its leaves and the small fernlike plants that I knew were licorice; the only trees I knew this licorice fern grew on were these maples. In the same way I knew the large fir trees, as well as the cedar trees — by feeling the bark and needles; the cedar also had a distinct odor.

#Leaving the soft forest trail we headed down a paved road that served the secluded camping site.

#The trail next took us through a tunnel that extended beneath the busy highway that cut the park into two halves.

#Exiting the tunnel we veered right to walk down a long boardwalk that meandered across the swampy shore of Silver Lake, a beautiful lake lying west of Mount St. Helens. In a couple of places, the boardwalk even extended out over the edge of the beautiful crystal-clear water. Our feet made distinct hollow sounds with each step. Although most of this boardwalk had wooden rails on each side, there was a long section with only a nine-inch-high plank along the outer edge of the wooden trail to protect the hiker from the water below.

#Dorothy saw a muskrat slip into the murky water ahead of us, and we heard the bass voice of a nearby bullfrog as he croaked to another bullfrog across the swamp. I heard a pair of Canada geese honking as they drifted through the bulrushes nearby; Dorothy said they had several goslings with them.

#The land lay peaceful, blissfully dreaming of the newly born day with no sign of the heat that would shine down a few hours later.

#“Ah,” spoke Dorothy as we paused. “There is a great view of Mt. St. Helens; she is beautiful with the snow dazzling in the morning sunlight. I feel I can almost reach out and touch her.”

#We paused for a refreshing moment before starting down the last stretch of boardwalk. No longer did I fear that the enjoyment of walking woodland and mountain trails would be denied me, for I knew that with Randy I would once again be allowed this exciting adventure.

#Later, my brother took us up the highway towards the mountain. A river, far below us, rolled like a thin chocolate ribbon as rapidly melting snow fed it and also colored it. Whereas 30 years before, the highway had meandered up the valley floor close to the river’s edge, today it climbs the mountainsides far above the racing river, spanning chasms cut deep into the earth.Right now we are more than excited to share our current sweetheartnecklinedress line.

#We found new life growing where only some 30 years ago only desolation and ruin could be seen. Young trees, some already 20 feet tall, greeted us as this land once again tried to make itself into a beautiful home for birds and animals.

#Even if you can no longer see the beauty around you, you can still enjoy it by getting out in it and touching, hearing and breathing in the fresh aromas.

Birmingham draws up plans to bid for $10m cycling city grant

Plans to revolutionise Birmingham’s biking infrastructure have been revealed to city cyclists.

The city council has devised a 20-year plan to change the face of Birmingham’s transport system, creating segregated cycle routes along main roads, expanding 20mph zones to make cycling safer and launching a version of London’s “Barclays Bikes” so that people can pick up and drop off hire bikes from dedicated points across the city.

The plans are being submitted to the Department for Transport in two weeks’ time as Birmingham bids to become a “Cycling City” under the banner of the “Birmingham Cycle Revolution”.

The council is competing against Bristol, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham and Sheffield for $10 million and has revealed their outline plans to 100 bikers at the city cycling forum.

Introducing the plans, chair of the cycling forum, Coun Lisa Trickett (Lab, Moseley and Kings Heath), said: “Birmingham is so associated with the car and the motor industry and to have a bid that talks about a revolution for cycling is fantastic news for this city.Fill your closet with buywatches and be ready to step out for any activity.

“It sets out the message that we may have been a city of cars but our future is sustainable urban transport, of which cycling forms a key part. The wintert-shirts is one amongst the foremost in style international models.”

The focus of the plan is on cycling infrastructure, concentrating on improving safety on main arteries for confident cyclists who want to get directly into the city centre, as well as creating new routes on quieter roads and off-road for beginner cyclists.

Three cities are set to benefit from $30 million of “Cycle City Ambition” funding announced by transport minister Norman Baker in January.

The council accepts Birmingham is the underdog in the competition, as all the competing cities showed solid growth in the proportions of people commuting by bicycle between 2011 and 2012, except Birmingham where growth was minimal, and Nottingham where the number actually fell.

Birmingham now sits at the bottom of the list of competing cities for commuting by bicycle, having been leapfrogged by Leeds and Sheffield.Ah-mazing wine coachhandbags detailing and a navy pleated skirt.

Less than 1.5 per cent of people in the city use a bike to commute, whereas Manchester and Nottingham have double that number, and Bristol has five times as many.

The $10 million funding must be spent within two years, with the council securing further funding for a subsequent eight years to complete its 10-year plan, and a further 10 years after that to complete the 20-year roll out.

One is always bumping into Queen Elizabeth II in Canberra (she can't leave us alone and has been here at least 12 times).

But suddenly on Sunday there she was, coming regally down the aisle of the sunlit and audience-crammed Albert Hall during that lovely afternoon of treats and thrills, the Canberra Choral Society's Great Performances in the Albert Hall.

Bride Landed in parachute gown

There is something very unorthodox about this orthodox-looking wedding picture from 1943. The bride is Miss Brenda Keep who has just become Mrs Brenda Land. She is wearing for her wedding at Hurstville in Sydney a very pretty wedding dress surely made from what wedding dresses are usually made of.

But wait! Her dress is made from an unorthodox material. Can you guess what it is?

For those of you who know a little history, does the year of the wedding give you a clue? It's wartime. The uniformed groom is a soldier, Robert Edwin Land, son of Fred Land (destined to be mayor of Queanbeyan from 1963 to 1980). Australia has introduced rationing and clothing coupons are necessary to buy anything so self-indulgent as fabrics with which to make swish gowns. As Miss Keep's wedding day loomed, almost the only remotely wedding-gown fabric available was parachute silk - and that's exactly what Brenda's gown is so resourcefully made of.

Queanbeyan is 175 this year and this parachute-silk creation is one of the treasures of the exhibition The Way We Wore, one of many of Queanbeyan's celebrations of its great big birthday. Doping in rugby as bad as cycling, says ex-hooker

Speaking to Le Monde Benezech said: “The proofs (of doping in rugby) are in front of our eyes but no-one’s interested.

“Rugby is in exactly the same situation that cycling was before the Festina affair.” The Festina affair was an infamous case from 1998 in which the Festina team doctor was stopped by customs officers at the France-Belgium border and found to be carrying various doping products.

The fall-out saw several doping investigations and admissions from cyclists and in many people’s eyes that was the catalyst to a new commitment to tackle doping in the sport.

Benezech’s comments come just a week after former France scrum-half Jean-Pierre Elissalde claimed amphetamines were widely taken in the sport during the 1970s and 1980s.

He also admitted doping during his career.

Just a few days before that,You may see many other fake websites posting available ballgown, be aware of fake retailers. high-ranking French anti-doping official Francoise Lasne claimed rugby had returned the highest proportion of positive dope tests in France in 2012.

And according to Benezech, who was capped 15 times from 1994 to 1995, one need only look at the statistics to see the evidence.

“We went from 20 minutes of effective action to 30 minutes at the end of the 1990s which was the normal evolution due to the players becoming professionals,” he said.

“But now we’re explaining, even though we’re already at 40 minutes, that we can hit 50 and even, why not, 60.

“That’s what happened in cycling at the end of the 1990s when logic saw us lengthening the Tour de France’s stages and increasing the difficulties without it posing any problems physically to the riders.” Benezech blamed clubs for being complicit in abetting doping by authorising the use of banned substances for therapeutic reasons.

“In certain clubs there is the legalisation of the use of authorisations given by the doctors, the famous AUTs (authorisations for therapeutic usage), otherwise players would test positive,” he said.

“The use of AUTs has developped in the sense that the doctor justifies the use (of banned substances) for medical reasons when it’s clear that they are used to improve performance.” And Benezech said rugby authorities had to stop burying their heads in the sand or the systematic use of doping would continue.

“As long as we remain in the dark and refuse to be transparent, we will not be able to avoid endangering the health of sportsmen.” When Escondido hosted the race in 2009, crowds flooded downtown, and many local restaurants had record days.Louis Vuitton Online Shop Offer 2012 New Style beautifulballgownweddingdresses. This show can channel the sex powers of Sam Witwer's chin, the genuine sweetness of Meaghan Rath and the disarmingly comical charm of Sam Huntington. But Being Human is truly at its best when it wraps all three characters together and lets them bounce off each other.

Once together, the three summon the powers of such cute sincerity and adorableness that it's almost knee-buckling. I could care less about vampire/werewolf mutants or whether or not Henry is dead (he most certainly is not) -- I just want these three monsters to continue doing menial tasks with the flair and gusto of a basket of kittens. It's just so fucking cute, I die.Largest selection of hermeshandbags available in all colors, sizes, fabrics. Over and over and over.

I know this because Sally almost dies in last night's episode. Spiritually, or whatever. So with true death on the horizon, the characters prepare to say goodbye to Sally's reanimated corpse. And in doing so also prepare for the big showdown with the evil witch Donna. AND the big wedding between Nora and Josh. There are a lot of emotions flying around, and it's all so damn cute, I don't think it could have been cuter if they put those little Taylor Swift cat ears (but I wouldn't be opposed to it!). So let's count down the cute.

Josh and Nora wake up, and it's their wedding day! Together they circle around each other in the bed like little minnows, each praising the other for being their better half. So what if we're not getting married in a big expensive hotel, we love each other. Meep!
Nora and Josh come downstairs, and not only is Aidan making them breakfast but he has festooned the room with the traditional Jewish wedding ceremony chuppa. I'll give you all a second while thoughts of Aidan hanging garland dance in your head. Oh yeah, and he's officiating the wedding.
Cat shows up, Aidan swiftly fixes whatever tension and calls her his "girlfriend," and Nora and Josh have a locker room style freakout about the girlfriend bomb.

Sally is rotting away, but in the cutest way possible, huddled in the corner in some seriously cute underwear. And wait, it gets better. As we all know, when you die and become a spirit,Louis Vuitton Online Shop Offer 2012 New Style beautifulballgownweddingdresses. your body is doomed to stay in the outfit you perished in forever. Which means: Zombie Body Fashion Show!!!! This is where Being Human goes full stupid cute. And whole-hogs it into weirdo land -- while music plays, a reanimated corpse with flesh falling off her bones tries on some dresses. Sally and Nora even have the "nuh uh" and the "ah ha" moments, whilst Sally shows off her new looks. "Yay Dresses!" Shortly after the dead flesh show,Recent popular and foralgown discount louis vuitton handbags,Happy pursing! Sally passes. But not before listening to the sweetest "you're going to die now" bed time story from Aidan. They joke and almost cry, and all the while I'm thinking, "when I die I really hope I don't land face first in a box of Entenmann's donuts in laundry day bathing suit bottoms, because this is really much better... Oh my god, I'm going to die alone." But seriously, can we hire Aidan and Josh to work the bedsides of people who are about to walk through their own shell door? Because they are quite excellent at it.

Aidan and Josh follow Sally into the door to fight Donna. There, Sally lets her spirit body become engulfed in magic flames and dies -- but not before saying "I love you" to both of them, deliberately.
But it's all OK because Sally lives. It's way too early to start killing off the fun people. Let's just kill Ray and the other werewolf Dad like eight more times, and continue on pretending that Henry is dead. Sally comes home and the wedding continues. Aidan starts off the ceremony with the eloquence you wish you could foist onto the friend you ordained for your own wedding. Josh recites his own vows, because of course he wrote his own vows. And it's all Grey's Anatomy -- only with characters you are actually rooting for as opposed to hoping that this time the weird plane accident will take them all out.

By the end I was silently clapping at all the sweetness. Maybe it's because everything out there is just so damn dark lately, but it felt good to feel good with silly but genuine characters. Yes, the last two episodes of Being Human were almost completely worthless and a long, meandering lead-up to this, but the end reveal of the wedding was worth it. Hell I wish the season finale was right now.

Midwest Charitable Clothing Company Offers Limited Time Discount on Shirts That Raise Money for Charity

Changing the world as an individual can be an overwhelming task to say the least, but changing the world as a society or generation starts to become more realistic. That is exactly the message that PIF Apparel is sharing with their customers. The company sells t-shirts to help raise money for charity, allowing customers to decide which organization receives the funds. PIF is also teaching its customers how to make sure that their generosity will make a lasting impact by only promoting non-profits that have a high level of financial integrity.

PIF Apparel has just announced that it will be offering its customers a limited time offer of 10% off two or more items (Promo code: PIFVIP1) from now until April 8th. Customers that choose to shop with PIF do not normally get the opportunity for additional savings. The company has priced its line of high-quality t-shirts to be competitive with similar style t-shirts offered through many popular chain stores. The sale is not an extravagant door buster but considering that the company gives away 25% of everything they sell to charity they understandably have much tighter margins to work with.

“We don’t typically run sales, but we wanted to use this promotion to help drive some additional volume for our March and April charity partners. More shirts sold means more money raised, and these charities certainly deserve the support,Wonderful Gucci handbags collection: alineweddingdresses and discount Gucci handbags by Styledrops.” states PIF founder Matthew Moses.

PIF’s main goal is to educate its customers on how they can impact positive change more efficiently by choosing to support non-profits that are committed to higher standard of financial stewardship. What exactly is a barijaybridesmaiddresses? By supporting companies that allocate more money to the cause that they represent the donors are able to impact the cause more effectively. All of the charities that PIF has partnered with to help support have an above average financial rating with the nation’s largest independent non-profit evaluator, Charity Navigator.

On the surface, Pay It Forward’s business model is similar to many other socially minded firms that have been showing up over the past few years. But once customers begin to scratch the surface they find a company that is committed to educating its customers, supporting the non-profits it represents, and doing something that no other socially minded firms are doing: giving the customer the choice of who to support. At any one point in time customers have the opportunity to support more than twelve different charities, all with varying causes and missions.

"More of an all-rounder but still happy to mix it up on the big stuff"

While the front-end geometry is similar to that of other similarly priced hardtails, it’s significantly steeper at the back, which puts your weight slightly further forward when seated. The result is that it’s relatively easy to hold a line on steep climbs, which is a bonus.

Combine this with the Saracen’s sub-30lb weight and you get a bike that’s pretty good on climbs. The steeper seat angle makes no difference when standing up, of course.

When you’re stood on the pedals, the Mantra has a similar handling feel to similar hardtails, although with a lower front end and slightly longer back end it’s not quite as ready to pop the front up as some. There’s not as much grip either – the budget Schwalbe tyres have a low-profile tread pattern and quite a hard compound. You do get a usefully wide bar though.
he Mantra Trail doesn’t lack a bit of burl in the frame department. Leading the way is the head tube, which looks like any other semi-integrated headset setup but in fact follows the X44 standard. That means you can swap the internal bottom bearing for an external one and fit a tapered-steerer fork – it’s lightweight and future-proof,Stay up to date on the latest team rider and shouldercocktaildresses releases. although you don’t get the benefit of a bigger tube to weld other tubes to.

The tall down tube maximises weld area, though, and morphs into a flat-bottomed shape at the bottom bracket that’s very similar to the Commencal’s. The top tube is a flared inverted triangle, and while there’s nothing particularly unusual going on with the rear stays, the dropouts are distinctive forged items.

The Mantra’s frame is unusually well-served by bosses, with mounts for two bottle cages, a Crud Catcher and even a rear rack should you wish to indulge in some extreme touring action. All the cables are carried in bolt-on hangers under the top tube.Wonderful Gucci handbags collection: alineweddingdresses and discount Gucci handbags by Styledrops.

An impressive component spec for the money includes, most notably, a Suntour Radion fork. That might not sound hugely exciting but the fact that it’s got proper damping with an actual adjuster turns out to be quite a big deal.

Another big bonus is the transmission, which is not just all Shimano, but all Shimano Deore. What exactly is a barijaybridesmaiddresses? That puts it at least a couple of rungs up the ladder compared to some cheaper bikes, and means niceties such as a tucked-in Shadow rear mech and a 10-speed 11-36T rear cassette.Formal royaloak on sale at great discount.

Deore stuff might still be entry level where mountain bike parts are concerned, but it’s proper gear that works. In keeping with the Mantra’s trail ethos, there’s a triple chainset up front.

The brakes are Shimano too, fairly basic M395 units but competent enough and as reliable as we’ve come to expect from Shimano. The Mantra has a 180mm rotor up front for a bit more oomph.

The levers are mounted to a generous 720mm Saracen-branded bar held in a suitably stumpy stem. We felt slightly short-changed by the all-rubber grips, which shifted around on the bar. It was pretty wet during the test period, but lock-ons would have stayed put.

If you plan on pushing your skills on jumps and drops, a beefier frame might suit you better, but for most mucking-about-in-the-woods purposes, the Mantra’s chuckable low weight and better fork make it a good bet.

The things that make it an all-rounder don’t detract from its abilities, and the Radion fork, while still a budget item, has competent – and adjustable – damping that gives it a huge boost in capability.Wholesale high quality and suprashoesforgirls Wait for You to Choose. Taken as a complete package, you’ll be able to ride harder on the Mantra before feeling like you’re reaching its limits.
