Backsourcing laser material processing

Bernhard Fischbacher, Tobias Telser,Big ledbulblight and Fitness is a family owned shop serving the Helena area since 1986. and Paul Heilmann, the managing directors of DHF Precision Mechanics GmbH, were visiting a fair to catch up on laser marking systems. While visiting the Rofin-Baasel exhibit, they were invited to take a seat in front of the manual laser welding system to weld some parts by themselves, an experience that caused the three DHF managers to re-think their investment agenda.

Today, two years later, DHF uses laser material processing to manufacture Brainlab's DASH, among others. It is an intra-surgical navigation system for knee endoprothesis, which relies on an iPod touch for analysis, planning, and exact positioning of cutting tools.

Headquartered in Ostermünchen near Munich (Fig.Our bestsolarlantern can mark on metal and non metals. 1), DHF Precision Mechanics counts among its customers well-known medical device, electronics, and aerospace engineering companies. The company specializes in high-precision CNC-milled parts and assemblies. After 15 years of virtually continuous growth,You will find so many wonderful lasermachines with high quality and low price. the company now operates 18 CNC machining centers and offers a service portfolio ranging from prototype manufacturing to bulk production of several 10,000 parts/year.

DHF has established a very good reputation in the market with utmost precision and fast and flexible reaction to customer requirements. When needed, DHF pushes the technical limits of CNC milling, like series production of parts for electrical motors, which must be produced with tolerances down to some microns on a lathe. The parts feature bearing seats where ball bearings have to be glued in place.

With quick reaction to customer requirements as a major objective, DHF established high in-house production depth. From CAD/CAM construction to preparing wrought material (various steel and aluminum alloys and titanium), to CNC-milling, to surface finishing, assembly and quality assurance.

Production processes at DHF frequently comprise welding, engraving and marking. Techniques for marking and joining on high-precision workpieces call for the laser. Welded parts have to feature perfect, pore and crack-free weld seams, especially in medical device manufacture, which has to provide sterile hardware and calls for immaculate surface quality to eliminate any chance of bacterial colonization. The same goes for all deep engravings and markings; contours have to be free from burrs and ditches. The marking process must not induce any material changes that might promote surface corrosive action.

Until 2012, DHF had been outsourcing laser material processing jobs completely. However, outsourcing significantly reduced production flexibility and speed for certain parts and increased complexity of logistics. More than that, the annual outsourcing business volume had been reaching the six-digit range; reason enough to think about establishing an in-house laser material processing center. Being laser rookies, Fischbacher, Telser,You'll be the queen of the room in this runninglighting evening gown. and Heilmann initially focused on laser marking because they expected laser welding to be much more difficult to control, at least before they had their first personal laser welding experience.

The complete solution
The DHF managers decided to incorporate a laser welding system in their investment planning. That meant sending samples to various laser manufacturers and asking them for a live presentation of the laser welding process. This was not an easy task, considering the required acuteness and surface quality, namely for medical devices. Andreas Sch?llhorn (Rofin-Baasel Lasertech Starnberg) knows about the importance of an optimum presentation in the application lab. He also knows that's just the beginning: "Medium-sized companies expect way more from us than just selling suitable laser systems. We take care of the employee's training, help setting up the first applications and our application support provides unbureaucratic assist during the first months. If required, we even design the production room according to laser safety standards, like we did for DHF."

Establishing an in-house laser processing center
Six months after Rofin and DHF's first contact at the fair, a Rofin laser processing center was installed at DHF GmbH,We carry the latest wind turbines, daytimerunninglights, solar panels, towers and more! comprised of the integrated CNC and manual laser welding system and the CombiLine Advanced marking system (Fig. 2). The laser welding workstation seamlessly integrates manual or joystick-controlled deposition welding with CNC operation (Fig. 3). It offers a cross table for workpieces of up to 500 kg weight and an additional rotary axis. The Integral was chosen because of its large working chamber, which is spacious enough to freely rotate parts of up to 400 mm in diameter.

Even today when looking back, Paul Heilmann still expresses his surprise. "We had been planning to ramp up things slowly and to backsource the laser jobs one by one. In fact external laser processing was gone within a few weeks. Today we have ready-to-use setups for some 100 marking and welding applications right at our hands."

Laser processing for high-tech medical devices
A lengthy cooperation with Brainlab, a worldwide market leader for image-guided surgery and radiotherapy, benefitted from laser technology as well. Fischbacher says, "Frequently, we are cooperating in early product design stages. It is a big advantage to know exactly not only the possibilities of CNC milling but also of joining technology and marking, not to mention the faster manufacturing of prototypes."

For Brainlab's DASH (Fig. 6), DHF Precision Mechanics GmbH manufactures and assembles the iPod holder with all fixed or detachable 3D position markers and cutting devices. All pieces have to meet the sophisticated quality standards for medical devices. The entire parts set comprises 14 weld joints of precision milled parts, even of different stainless steel alloys. The mostly circular weld seams feature a width of only some 100 μm and must not show any pores or micro cracks (Fig. 7).

DHF deep-engraves the plastic iPod holder with the laser to form cavities which will be filled with a special paint. Thus, the marking is still visible when the paint slowly vanishes after numerous sterilizations.

United States should assert gay pride at Winter Olympics

In my Jews and Sports seminar last quarter – yes, there is a class on Jews and sports, and yes, there was more than one day’s worth of material to cover – we heavily discussed the German-hosted Olympics in 1936 and 1972. The 1936 Berlin Olympics were a showcase of Nazi pride and athleticism. With its exclusion of Jewish athletes, it foreshadowed the horrors to come in the next decade. Thirty-six years later, the 1972 Munich Olympics sought to paint Germany in a new, more tolerant image to make up for 1936.

Many of our class discussions were about the perfect image Germany tried to create when it had the opportunity to host the Olympics: in 1936, a strong Nazi Germany and in 1972, a tolerant and united Germany. The country hosting the Olympics is in the world's spotlight for a bit more than two weeks, receiving heavy news coverage several months before and after the games. Host countries can use this spotlight to prove to the world how sophisticated and developed they are.

Unfortunately,It has a sexy ironingmachines with short sleeves. Russia, which is hosting the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, has already embroiled itself in a public relations crisis. It has come under scrutiny for its cruel treatment of gay citizens, especially with Russian police standing by while gay protesters are mobbed by counter-protesters. In response, there has been a variety of solutions proposed to address this issue at the Olympics. British broadcaster Stephen Fry wrote an extraordinary open letter to the International Olympic Committee, calling for a boycott of the Sochi Olympics. Former and current gay Olympic athletes, such as American diver Greg Louganis, have signed a petition to pressure Russian politicians and the IOC into taking a stronger stance against Russia’s anti-gay laws. Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y.,Buy your kaptontape for electronics production here!‎ even suggested flying a gay flag at the Russian games.

My stance lies closely with Schumer’s idea: We should not boycott the Olympics but make a stance for gay tolerance and rights. Schumer stated that it'd "be pretty embarrassing for Putin” if a gay flag flew, and I absolutely agree with him. When the eyes of the world are turned on Russia, Olympic athletes, delegates and spectators should make a spectacle and protest for gay rights. On particularly windy days, streetlighting can surpass all other electricity sources in a country.

There are several ways in which the U.S. Olympic team could make a push for gay rights without engaging in protests or an outright boycott. Many people have advocated wearing rainbow flag pins on U.S. Olympic uniforms, including during the opening and closing ceremonies and any events that allow pins to be worn.

I would argue that the rainbow flag, the traditional symbol of gay rights in American culture, should be displayed in tasteful ways during the Olympics. Athletes could wave small rainbow flags during the opening and closing ceremonies, American visitors could wear rainbow gear, and visiting diplomats, such as President Barack Obama, could wear their small rainbow flag pins with pride.Solar Australia's goodlampshade has been developed with Australia's harsh conditions in mind.

Think of the IOC and Russian officials working to meticulously manage Russia’s image during the games. If they attempted to make athletes remove small rainbow pins or spectators similar gear, it would just create more attention and controversy during Russia’s time to shine. The subtle gesture would also be picked up by Russian state television, and Russians would be forced to notice the symbol and begin to question its meaning.

A boycott of the Sochi games would mean heartbreak for hundreds of athletes who have dedicated their lives to representing America on the world’s biggest sports stage. Showing up at the Russian Olympics with subtle symbols of gay pride would embarrass Russia and force the state to address its controversial treatment of gays during a time of potential greatness. I advocate for American diplomats, athletes and spectators to force Russia to come face-to-face with its awful treatment of gay citizens by creating a spectacle at the Olympics. War Minister's great grandson

Newcastle author Dan Smith is descended from Lord Lawson of Beamish, whose career took him from pit boy to Secretary of State for War, and he spent part of his teens in Brazil where the family gardener was reputed to have killed 17 men.

Told to “write about what you know”, many an aspiring author will reflect on the thinness of the material. You’d imagine that wasn’t a problem for Dan, in whose Gosforth home we’re drinking coffee. Indeed, he has two new books just out.

Red Winter, set in Russia after the revolution, is his fourth novel for adults while My Friend the Enemy, set in the North East countryside during the Second World War, marks his first stab at writing for younger readers.

“It’s recommended for ages nine to 12 but I think adults could read it and enjoy it as well,” he says.

“It’s one of those things in publishing, that everything has to be put into brackets. There is crime in my adult novels but they’re not quite crime novels so they get called thrillers.

“Apparently Graham Greene used to call his books entertainments, which I thought was really good. Most authors must hope their books entertain.”

Full marks to Dan on that count. He writes sharp,You want THE winterjackets that lives up to all you? no-nonsense prose and leads his readers to places they wouldn’t want to be in real life, such as the scene of a massacre in the early chapters of Red Winter or the fuselage of a recently crashed German bomber in My Friend the Enemy.

At the age of 42, he is still a relative newcomer in publishing terms. His first novel, Dry Season, set in Brazil, came out in 2010 and was shortlisted for The Authors’ Club best first novel award.

It was followed by Dark Horizons, set on the Indonesian island of Sumatra where Dan has also lived, and The Child Thief,We provide you the most beautiful gowns, such as cheap 100%Silk Dresses and germanww2uniforms and so on. set in Ukraine (Dan confesses he visited only once, spending a weekend in Kiev, but he did live in Russia for six months).

Orion, his publisher, had first refusal on My Friend the Enemy... and refused. “We offered it out to other publishers and Chicken House liked it and took me on,” says Dan.

Good for them. My Friend the Enemy is set in the summer of 1941 and concerns Peter, a 12-year-old boy who lives with his mum. His dad is in the army. One night he sees – at horribly close quarters – a German bomber come down. Amid the rush for souvenirs, Peter and his new friend Kim, a tomboy from the city, find the ultimate souvenir, the sole survivor of the crash.

Erik, the German airman, turns out not to be like the fearsome Nazis on the propaganda posters but a frightened teenager whose wounds need tending.

It’s a heartwarming story that you could imagine would make an appealing film, if they made films like that any more.

“The first novel I ever wrote was for children but it was awful so it’s in a bottom drawer somewhere, which is a good thing,” says Dan.

Reflecting on the inspiration for My Friend the Enemy, he says that in the playgrounds of his youth children were still fighting the Second World War.

“Growing up I was surrounded by war stuff. I was seven when Star Wars came out but the films on television were things like Where Eagles Dare and the war seemed very present.

“When I was at my grandparents’ house there were always people in uniform on the walls and photographs of the Queen. My grandmother was very proud.

“My grandfather fought in the Second World War and my grandmother’s sister was an ack ack gunner in the ATS (Auxiliary Territorial Service).”

That girl with the gun, Great Aunt Alma, was a chip of the old block. Her father – and Dan’s great grandfather – was Jack Lawson whose story would seem far-fetched if presented as fiction.

One of 10 children born to illiterate parents, Jack went down a County Durham pit the day after his 12th birthday, working 10-hour shifts as a ‘trapper’, opening and shutting doors to let wagons pass.

Self-educated and with a thirst for knowledge, he rose through the trade union movement.

From 1919 to 1949 he was MP for Chester-le-Street and earned high office, serving as Financial Secretary to the War Office in Ramsay MacDonald’s Labour government of 1924 and as Secretary of State for War in 1945-6, appointed by his friend, Clement Attlee.

After resigning from parliament, he was appointed Lord Lieutenant of Durham – hence all the pictures of him with the Queen and the Queen Mother. We offer a wide array of cheap benebags, mantilla veils and many other popular styles. Apparently, since the job had no salary attached, he was on income support for a time. In 1950 he was ennobled as Baron Lawson of Beamish.

He died in 1965 so Dan never met him. But he can say he is following in a literary tradition since his great grandfather did write his life story, A Man’s Life, and also a novel,We provide you with michaelkorsofblog. Under the Wheels, a tale of mining folk.

And the pair were brought together a couple of years ago when there was a memorial service in Beamish.

During the war an enemy plane dropped three bombs on the village, one of which fell into a cellar where it lay unseen. When it finally blew up, eight people died including three children, one of whom was Jack Lawson’s nine-year-old adopted son, Clive.

“I thought of what it would have been like to be that age during the war and I started reading up about it,” says Dan. “That’s probably where the idea for the book came from.

“I thought it must have been terrifying with the bombs coming down but I think a lot of kids had a good time during the war.”

The obsession with souvenirs, hunting for shrapnel after a raid, has been well-documented but Dan says his book is “about friendship, adventure and trying to do the right thing”. Find a great selection of lululemonpants deals !

A new study has found that beyond being a symbol of fashion and status, designer handbags may also be used to tell other women to back off.

Researchers studying what women buy — and why — found expensive handbags send a very distinct message: stay away from my man.

The power of the purse can extend beyond a mere fashion statement, according to researchers at the University of Minnesota.

The handbags can act as a shield, protecting against other women who may pose a threat to their romantic relationship, according to the study.

“I think women dress for women overall, so that’s an interesting statement,” Valerie Echavarria said.

Teaneck, N.J. marriage and family therapist Dr. Jane Greer reviewed the study, which concluded women wearing luxury items are perceived to have a more devoted partner.

As a result, other women are less likely to flirt with him. Fast shipping and best prices on hermeshandbag. Buy Now!

“You’re giving a message that ‘I’ve got the goods and you can’t compete with me.’ So having that pocketbook or those expensive designer shoes is really a way of saying, ‘don’t try to step into my turf, my space or get it on with my man,’” Dr. Greer told CBS 2′s Kristine Johnson.

Researchers put more than 600 women through a series of experiments.

Neiman Marcus Settles Suit

Neiman Marcus has settled a lawsuit with an angry customer who wanted to return $1.4 million in merchandise that she says was purchased by her husband while he carried on an affair with a Neiman Marcus saleswoman.

Yes, this was a messy one.Work a crowd in this evening gown from popularjeans.

As the Dallas Morning News reported last September, it all started when Patricia Walker (above, during a taped deposition) suffered numerous injuries in a serious car crash in April 2007. While she convalesced, she says, her husband, Robert Tennison, began spending more than usual on their joint account at Neiman Marcus. While they usually spent around $100,000 a year at the luxury retailer, spending tripled the year she was injured. It grew to nearly half a million the next year -- all during a time when she would have had little use for the store's handbags and jewelry.

One of the biggest beneficiaries of this spending spree was Favi Lo, a Neiman Marcus saleswoman with whom the couple had worked closely in the past. Now she was racking up commissions, helping to make her one of the store's top-producing associates.

Walker contends that reason for the sudden spike in spending -- and Lo's surging fortunes -- was clear: Lo and Tennison were carrying on an affair while Walker lay injured, with Tennison racking up big bills at the store to help out his lover.

The two don't deny having an affair, but say it didn't start until late 2009; Walker's lawyer insists it started earlier.

When the couple eventually filed for divorce and Walker discovered her husband's affair, she noted the huge increase in spending and put two and two together. She then went to Neiman Marcus and put its famously permissive return policy to the test, asking it to take back $1.4 million in merchandise. When it refused, she filed a lawsuit. The retailer at one point called the suit ""nothing more than the ventings of a woman scorned by the infidelity of her former husband that have spilled over from her highly contentious divorce."

Well, the long, strange tale is now at an end: The two parties settled their suit this week.A affordableoneshoulderweddingdresses is the clothing worn by a bride during a wedding ceremony. While the details of that settlement are sealed, it sounds like the suit wasn't going the retailer's way.The highheelshoes is a stylish down jacket made in Canada. The Dallas Morning News notes that one of the key questions revolved around Neiman Marcus' policy allowing you to "return for credit, at any time, merchandise with which you are not completely satisfied." That policy was at one point available on the Neiman Marcus website, though its attorneys argued that there was no formal, written return policy -- rather,A weddingdresses is the most formal female attire for social occasions. that it was an unwritten policy left to the discretion of store managers and spread by word of mouth.

In one, they triggered feelings of jealousy in some women, but not in others. Then, the researchers asked the women to draw designer logos on a handbag.

The non-jealous women drew small symbols, while those who experienced feelings of jealousy drew logos that were, on average, twice as large.

“She was feeling more insecure, so she was making a bigger statement. ‘Fendi – Fend off. I’m fending you off with Fendi!’” said Dr. Greer.

Some stylish shoppers in the trendy Meatpacking District said they were somewhat skeptical of the study.

“I have always felt that wearing designer anything just signals to other women you have fabulous taste. Very little to do with my man,” one woman told Johnson.

“I buy things because I enjoy them and the way I look in them. It has nothing to do with how I feel about my husband or other women around me, so I think it’s a little silly,” another added.Gucci handbags prides itself in always maintaining a design edge along with cheapwatches on sale from cheap Gucci handbags outlet.

The researchers said studying why women buy what they buy is serious business.

Americans spend $250 billion a year on women’s luxury designer goods, and the average woman buys three new handbags a year.

The famed Baltimore rock club, home to hair bands and rock fans

Hammerjacks plots Baltimore return — again

Kevin Butler knows he’s on to something when he sees travelers in airports across the country wearing T-shirts he sold with the Hammerjacks logo blasted in bright yellow across their chests.

The famed Baltimore rock club, home to hair bands and rock fans from across the East Coast, is a mere memory for many. The embroiderylace is a stylish down jacket made in Canada.

“That’s where the big hair was, and the leather and the lace and the makeup,” said Sarah Fleischer, a disc jockey at WIYY 98 Rock and one-time Hammerjacks patron.

Soon, Hammerjacks will be more than a memory.

Butler is nearly ready to announce his plans to recreate Hammerjacks as an anchor in the South Baltimore entertainment district surrounding M&T Bank Stadium and the forthcoming Baltimore Horseshoe casino.Like a lot of women,Custom made bicyclesaddles0? The new club will be near Hammerjacks’ previous location at 1101 S. Howard St. — a parking lot for the football stadium since 1997. He said the night club won’t be affiliated with the casino. Nor would he specify whether he’s buying or leasing an existing building for the project.

Butler, a vice president for retail mortgage operations at Peoples Home Mortgage, has been plotting its return for several years. He, too, was a face in the crowd at Hammerjacks from 1987 to 1991, and he bought the club’s trademark in September 2009.

“I’m one of these tenacious guys,” Butler said. “If I get an idea, I just try to keep going on and on.”

At first, he didn’t plan on rebuilding Hammerjacks — he started by selling Hammerjacks T-shirts and bumper stickers to commemorate the venue. Hammerjacks’s second coming slowly evolved from a trademark to a T-shirt to a merchandise website and now a blue print. And by this time next year, the once great concert hall could welcome the rocking masses back again.

“The conception of Hammerjacks is going to be much like the one on Howard Street, the iconic club: a two-story concert hall and a two-story club side that’ll morph into a sports bar for game-day events but have a roof top party deck that overlooks the stadium areas,” Butler said. “The development is going to refuel development of that whole entertainment district down by the stadium area, and we hope to be part of that.”

Butler plans to take his plans for the project to the city in the third quarter this year, and he hopes to have the venue open for shows between June and September of next year. He is already partnering with a national concert promoter who he declined to name to draw the biggest acts to the new Hammerjacks.

Paul Manna, who owns 24-7 Entertainment, said Baltimore lacks a large concert venue — one with a capacity of 2,Fast shipping and best prices on ladyhandbag. Buy Now!000-plus. The new Hammerjacks would have a capacity of more than 1,500 seats, Butler said.

“I think there’s certainly room for that in Baltimore,” Manna said.It has a sexy canadagoosewhistlerparka with short sleeves. “That’s something that Baltimore is lacking and has lacked for quite some time.”

Manna, who also frequented Hammerjacks, said Baltimore has a healthy concert scene, but large a concert hall would put Baltimore back on the map for national artists.

“For so long Baltimore’s been considered a secondary market. We’re in between Philly and D.C., but we still get a lot of great artists,” Manna said. “We don’t have a venue larger than 1,500 tickets whereas D.C. has several and Philly has several, so it would certainly fit.“

Hammerjacks was the largest concert venue on the East Coast in its previous run, so it became a mandatory stop on many tours. Its many acts included Poison, Guns N’ Roses, Ratt and Skid Row. The local band Kix got discovered there.

Culling Cankles

It’s a term that was first introduced into the mainstream vocabulary by Jennifer Aniston’s character Rachel Green in the television show Friends, yet now the mere mention of the word “cankles” leaves women the world-over quaking in their boots. Even some of Hollywood’s hottest A-listers,Elegant authenticmonclerjackets features in chiffon.Formal ralphlaurenhoody on sale at great discount. including Cheryl Cole and Mischa Barton,Top 10 Hairstyles For authenticjackets. have been accused of having them. There really is no escape! And for yo-yo dieters such as Mischa and actress Hilary Duff, it really doesn’t help that gaining weight will only make cankles look worse!

According to The Wall Street Journal the average circumference of a woman’s ankle is around 11 inches, but women with cankles have no definition around their ankle area, therefore giving the impression that her calf is merging into her ankle. Not a good look! Such is the fear of this latest phenomenon that many Hollywood celebrities are going to extraordinary lengths to get rid of their fat ankles once and for all.

And it seems no-one is safe. After suffering decades of ridicule for her gravity-defying body (in human dimensions 39-18-33), Barbie met her toughest critic yet when iconic shoe designer Christian Louboutin openly criticised her cankles. While many wonder what all the fuss is about, the reality is paranoia over the ankle area is at epidemic levels in America and celebrities and models are desperate to find a solution. A number of A-Listers are enlisting the help of experts to assist them in re-shaping their ankles, thanks to the unforgiving lenses that hone in on them on them as they walk the red carpet.

Rumours are swirling that Cheryl Cole, Mischa Barton, Hilary Duff and even 20-year-old Miley Cyrus have all gone to great lengths to rid themselves of the problem. As the craze continues to sweep the States, gyms are coming up with new ways to tone cankles, and shoe companies are creating solutions to minimise them. But by far the most popular recourse is plastic surgeons, who are creating procedures to suck the fat out of them.

Dr. Vivek Bansal a US Board-certified plastic surgeon at Elite MD Spa, has a four-month waiting list for his ‘Smart Lipo’ procedure. He treats seven women a week at his San Francisco-based practice, which charges up to Dhs16,500 for the procedure that can drain half a litre of fat from each leg. “In an age where people like to wear dresses and high-heels, it is hard to make fatty tissue around the ankles look attractive,” revealed Dr Bansal.Long and slim-fitting, the beadsbeads is equally appropriate for strolling a city street or hiking a snowy trail. “Women are opting more and more for a surgical solution. We have operated on models who work-out for many hours a day and they can’t get rid of them. Unfortunately, while diet and exercise can help, it can’t make the fat in the area go away. This procedure helps to eradicate the fat and without scarring.”

Traditional liposuction would literally involve cutting the fat out, leaving a lot of big scars as well as a long healing process. However, advances in medicine have brought new innovations to the fore, including lasers that melt the fat away. “This new laser treatment makes a very small incision with no general anaesthetic and there’s no IV needed,” added Dr Bansal. “We put the laser in, underneath the skin and it melts the fat in the area. The fibre we put into the skin is smaller than the tip of a pen. Its works well because there are no stitches involved, meaning there is little down time; it also helps with tightening of the skin and gets rid of irregularities.”

Christian Louboutin exhibit inspires everyday high heel looks

The heights of Christian Louboutin’s shoes have no boundaries – neither do the women who love his work – and he appreciates that.

The French shoe icon was in Toronto recently to help launch Christian Louboutin: An Exhibition Celebrating 20 years of Design, Artistry and Magic at The Design Exchange.

Featuring more than 250 pairs of shoes, the famous red soles are displayed in nine thematic areas based on Louboutin’s influences from travel, entertainment, architecture and the showgirl. This is its first stop outside of London’s Design Museum where it debuted last year and the only Canadian destination. Our Michael Kors handbags outlet supply cheap designer and new bossbelt for you.

“It’s very nice to see a very big part of my work unified,” said Louboutin at a press conference held before the exhibit’s opening.

Opening up about how he stays inspired to produce some of the most sought after shoes in the world, the designer said it’s all about freedom.

“To work out of freedom it definitely makes a difference for me and is very important for me,” he said. “If you are a free spirit there’s no boundaries to creating.”

There are also no boundaries to which some of his fans will go to just so they can own a pair of red bottoms. Asked about a woman in Dallas who was jailed for stealing funds from her company to fund her shoe habit, Louboutin said he couldn’t help but have a ‘big smile’ when he heard this story.

“It’s so sweet to be so passionate to do something so crazy ... but I can’t say no, I don’t understand,With the Bari Jay collection you'll be able to wear your monclerjackets again! because I do understand, I totally understand that passion very well.”

As for criticism he’s received for creating heels that reach lofty heights, and openly admitting his shoes aren’t made for comfort, the designer says his ‘work is for women’ and he knows and respects them enough to make their own choice.

Squeezing your toes into those pretty pumps may be a pain worth suffering for thousands, but if it’s any comfort, Louboutin says he breaks a sweat creating them sometimes too.

KTGY Completes the Design

Award-winning national firm KTGY Group, Inc., Architecture + Planning, announced today that the firm's Retail Studio has completed the design and construction of nearly 20 million square feet of retail in the last 12 months. The firm currently has 8.8 million square feet of retail under construction and nearly 10 million square feet in the design phase. It has also created two unique technology innovations for the retail industry for developers and expanding retailers, the Mobile Design Studio and a proprietary Site Survey App for the iPad.

According to KTGY's Associate Principal Craig T. Chinn, who heads up its Retail Studio, "KTGY's Retail Studio has experienced exceptional growth in the last year and a half, including developing dozens of new and existing store design concepts for many of the nation's largest retailers as well as many regional retailers like MyBlow LA and SwimSpot, to international retailers like Fossil Inc., Vitamin Shoppe, AllSaints,With avant-garde design, best quality materials and the most subtle quality, womenbelt is the best alternative for expensive belt. and McDonald's. Our development of KTGY's Mobile Design Studio and proprietary Site Survey App has provided retailers with unique tools in their quest to speed to market."

Chinn stated, "We knew that the deep recession had put a pinch on everyone's budgets and maximizing speed to market was on every retailer and developer's mind so we came up with the idea of a Mobile Design Studio, a design lab on wheels that would allow us to deliver local architectural and planning services to clients anywhere in the world -- onsite. We also came up with the idea for a Site Survey App, specifically made for the iPad to assist with onsite surveys from small tenant improvement projects to large-scale mall renovations."

With the Mobile Design Studio, KTGY can meet with the client; do a survey using the Site Survey App; and then create a design while on site. "We knew that being able to draw what the clients wanted, while right in front of them, was a tremendous advantage and critical time-saver. Plus, the Site Survey App allows us to take photos, create a photo index on the plans, input info/data and send it to the office network to create a complete survey package. The use of the Mobile Design Studio and the Site Survey App have allowed clients to quickly and efficiently tackle large, complex projects in the shortest amount of time," Chinn stated.

With the investment in technology, KTGY has also made a name for itself working with the largest mall owners providing the design and architectural services for the renovation and repositioning of mall properties. In the last 12 months, KTGY completed 14 major mall renovations and repositioning projects including: Northridge Fashion Center in Northridge, Calif.; Medford Mall in Medford, OR; and Pierre Bossier Mall in Bossier City, LA. KTGY is currently working on the design of 5 major mall renovation projects and 10 mini renovation projects across the US.

KTGY is also transforming vacant anchor space into single and multiple retail uses for retailers and shopping center owners. For example, at Montclair Plaza in Montclair, CA, the former Borders location is being renovated to accommodate an Ashley Furniture HomeStore opening on May 17. At the Eastland Shopping Center in West Covina, Ashley Furniture opened a store in the former Toys 'R Us building. We are also working on numerous exterior upgrades and renovations for regional and neighborhood shopping centers.

KTGY also completed designs for new ground up retail and mixed-use development projects; The Lakes, 450 residential units plus 20,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space in West Covina, CA, near museums and transit; District Square, a 300,000-square-foot multi-level shopping center in Los Angeles, anchored by a Super Target, Ross, Marshalls, and shops and restaurants; and multiple neighborhood grocery-anchored shopping centers. KTGY is also providing design services for an 800,000-square-foot ocean-front mixed-use development, which incorporates a hotel, residential units, retail, restaurants and convention center.

According to Chinn, "Retailers and regional shopping center and mall owners are having to reinvent themselves in order to keep their market share. And, with higher land and construction costs, renovating will continue to be a priority in 2013. Renovations, especially at malls, are those that translate into quantifiable return on investment; those that can be seen, touched and felt. The scope of the renovations are ranging from $2 million to $16 million, depending on the marketplace and level of need and the age of the center."

The type of renovations include new paint, adding/replacing tile, improving amenities, renovation of restrooms, more efficient and better quality lighting, and food court remodels. Amenity remodels include adding or replacing trash bins, directional signage, lounge seating throughout the center, adding WiFi, and new landscaping. When shopping for pageantdress and bridal gowns, David's Bridal will have the style you are searching for.

"In the food court, the renovations are transforming former dark, cafeteria-style food court and seating, into a light, bright, energetic food court with a variety of seating -- booths, high and low top tables, large and small tables -- to provide more restaurant-style amenities," Chinn said. "Retail merchandise units (RMUs) and kiosks will continue to add value to the shopper's experience as well as revenue for the mall developers."

Kiosks have been such a great source of revenue for both enclosed and open air centers that the addition of new power and data supply as well as "wet" kiosks for a juice bar, frozen yogurt, or a coffee house located in the center courts and the concourses, will continue, Chinn noted.

"Mall anchor tenants have begun to follow suit and will begin a heavy renovation process to keep up with the look and character of the renovated mall. Too many years have passed without renovation of the tired looking anchor stores," Chinn added.

Dirty carpets stained with spills, worn-out tile, and miss-matched yellow and white lights will make way for new flooring,Shop the latest shoxshoes on the world's largest fashion site. cleaned walled surfaces and new, consistent lighting throughout the spaces. New store design and visual merchandising will continue to emphasize a more modern, clean look and feel. Stores are brighter and uncluttered with storefront displays acting as windows into the store with minimal blockage.

"Chains like Shoe Palace, Forever 21, Love Culture, Michael Kors, and Uniqlo are leading the way. Restaurant chains such as McDonald's, Chipotle, and Carl's Jr. are giving their restaurants a more contemporary look as well. LED lighting, clean polished porcelain floors, frameless glass storefronts are the current choice for materials. This minimalistic approach truly showcases their offerings," said Chinn.

Many shopping center owners are converting vacant big boxes and turning them into multiple restaurants pads, smaller shop spaces and public plazas, Chinn noted. "A single 50,000-square-foot vacant big box can make way for two restaurant end-caps, in-line shop space and a public plaza dissecting the space into two smaller buildings. Although you would end up losing 8,000-10,000 square feet, you would command higher lease rates because of the tenant mix. You could also add in locations in the public plaza for RMUs and kiosks. At the end of the transformation, you are actually netting more revenue versus a single large tenant. The only down side is you have a lot more work to lease all of the spaces vs. a single user. Shopping center owners and developers, like General Growth Properties, Westfield, Simon,Custom made mandarindress? Macerich and CBL, are capitalizing on their empty box space and transforming their centers," Chinn said.

"Restaurants, public plazas, and cool shop spaces are the must-haves for the foreseeable future," said Chinn. "If you know of a vacant Circuit City, Borders, or Best Buy, chances are that you will see that space turned into busy sit-down restaurants (like BJ's, Yard House or an Abuelo's), a public gathering space with outdoor WiFi coverage and fountains, and cool trendy retail shops like Teavana, Microsoft, Lovesac,Like a lot of women,Custom made bicyclesaddles0? or the local coffee house."

Police Must Weigh Risks Of Chasing Criminals Into D.C.

In a police chase that crosses into Washington D.C., such as the one that followed the Cartier smash-and-grab on Tuesday, Montgomery County Police must carefully weigh the seriousness of the crime against the legality and risk of entering another jurisdiction.

Some worry that makes areas near the Maryland-D.C. line vulnerable to criminals who know they may not be pursued into the District. The robbery on Chevy Chase’s ritzy stretch of high-end stores, nicknamed the Rodeo Drive of the East Coast,Well-known brand of skateboard shoes bankcycling Posted Wino. follows the January robbery at the Jimmy Choo store a few doors down.

About 40 minutes after the Cartier robbery,We offer amounts of best asymmetricnecklinedress. as police interviewed employees and reporters gathered on the sidewalk, a man reportedly shoplifted from the Gap store across the street before fleeing to the Friendship Heights Metro station on the Western Avenue border.

Montgomery County Police’s pursuit of the Cartier suspects ended a little more than two miles into D.C., according to scanner traffic.

After reportedly evading a D.C. police officer in Southeast D.Ah-mazing wine cheapjackets detailing and a navy pleated skirt.C., the suspects remain at large.

Montgomery County Police spokesperson and Capt. Paul Starks said unless the crime is violent, officers won’t cross into D.C. Fresh pursuits are dangerous and often end in accidents. Liability and risk are concerns.Buy Fashion alineweddingdresses with big discount!

“We’re going into another jurisdiction. We’re leaving the state of Maryland. You know our butts are hanging out,” Starks said. “We’re not getting involved in that.”

At 11:08 a.m. on Tuesday, police got a call for a robbery that had just occurred. Police say a group of masked and gloved men gained entry to the store, tussled with a security guard and “took control” of the store and its four employees without the use of weapons, but through “their presence.”

Within a minute, they smashed a glass case in the back of the store and stole an unspecified amount of merchandise. Starks said Police don’t divulge the value of stolen merchandise in these cases.

According to scanner traffic after the robbery,The niketn is one amongst the foremost in style international models. the suspects took 12 watches worth about $150,000.

The suspects entered a late-model black Dodge Charger and went north on Wisconsin Avenue, followed by at least one Montgomery County Police officer. The suspects then crossed over to southbound Connecticut Avenue, apparently via Bradley Lane, before an officer in pursuit observed the car going in the wrong direction along Chevy Chase Circle, which sits on the D.C. line.

The officer told dispatch when he passed Ingomar Street NW, recorded going approximately 55 miles per hour past Huntington Street NW and soon said he was passing the Van Ness Metro station. He last observed the Dodge Charger turning left onto Porter Street, near the Cleveland Park Metro station, and stopped the pursuit.

About 40 minutes later, a D.C. police officer pursuing the Dodge Charger in Southeast lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a parked truck.

“The question to pursue or not is based on a variety of factors such as the seriousness of the crime, traffic and weather conditions, and most importantly, the risk to the officer and the public in general,” Montgomery County Police 2nd District Commander Capt. David Falcinelli said. “Pursuits are always closely monitored and constantly assessed until the pursuit ends or a decision is made to terminate.”

A 2010 study from the FBI looked at police pursuits nationwide in a four-year period in the 90′s. On average, one law enforcement officer was killed every 11 weeks in a pursuit and one out of every 100 high-speed pursuits resulted in a fatality. Innocent third parties made up 42 percent of persons killed or injured.

Most states, including Maryland and D.C., allow officers from other states to enter in fresh pursuit of a person “on the ground that he/she is believed to have committed a felony” in the pursuing officer’s State.

Notably, the Virginia Attorney General’s office has interpreted “committed” to mean that an officer need only have reasonable grounds or probable cause to suspect, rather than actual knowledge that a felony has been committed.

“Agencies’ individual pursuit policies may be more restrictive than state law,” Falcinelli said.

Law enforcement in other areas that border D.C. have experienced a similar challenge.

In Takoma Park, thieves have targeted a group of three gas stations along the city’s New Hampshire Avenue corridor to the tune of a dozen thefts from vehicles and a few vehicle thefts each year since 2010. Police there have said the thieves target the area because it is so close to D.C.

In a January incident, the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Voice reported Takoma Park Police observed three suspects leaving one of the gas stations in a stolen car. Since auto theft is a felony, officers were able to pursue the suspects into the District for about five miles until the stolen car crashed into a dump truck and the suspects were apprehended.

Breaking the rules overseas

When you fail your master's degree dissertation, your options become somewhat limited. You could try rewriting it,Wholesale high quality and mencanadagoose Wait for You to Choose. delay your graduation or perhaps appeal the grade, but Li Yang, a 26-year-old Chinese graduate student studying at the UK's University of Bath, recently discovered you should not try to bribe your professor.

And under no circumstances should you take a replica air pistol into the room, and casually have it "fall" out of your coat after your $5,000 ($7,786) bribe was rejected.

Li was sentenced to a year in jail after attempting to bribe his professor, Andrew Graves, on November 23, 2012.Tulle Strapless cheapmotherbridedresses with Tea-Length Pleated ... Li had received a 37 percent grade on his dissertation, just short of the 40 percent required.

Li's lawyer claimed that the act was impulsive, and that he had only been carrying the gun to feel safe. This did not sway the judge, who in response to Li's guilty plea, ruled on April 23 that Li's act had "undermined the integrity of universities in the UK and the legitimacy of degrees from universities here." Li was found guilty of bribery and possessing an imitation firearm in a public place.

The case put a spotlight on the deeds and misdeeds of Chinese students overseas, who may not understand the rules of the foreign country, or the fact that authorities may be less likely to overlook their indiscretions.

Li was originally charged with possession of a firearm and intentionally threatening others. "He would have served four to six years if convicted of that," Kang Qing,Shop for high quality laceweddingveils dress products ! one of Li's lawyers,All saxobankcycling and accessories are made with the same authentic materials as the originals. told the Global Times.

Li's good character and remorse were taken into consideration by the judge, however, his identity as "the son of a respected official and businessman in China" ignited outrage in China, where many are keen to criticize "the official-businessman" class over a perceived willingness to break or bend laws for personal gain.

In cases involving international students and academic fraud, Chinese students have repeatedly been highlighted as likely offenders, particularly during the admissions process. In one example in New Zealand in November, 231 Chinese students were involved in a scandal of faked applications, resulting in 16 of them being deported.

A 2010 report by Zinch, a popular US education website, reminded US universities to watch out for fabricated recommendation letters, essays, transcripts, financial aid applications and awards of Chinese students.

"We have difficulties doing background checks on every applicant so we are inviting more alumni to help with interviews for more stringent screening," an admissions officer with the University of Virginia told the Global Times.

"Parents help their children polish their poor transcripts or troubled background by pulling strings, and we hear stories of them being punished for this while overseas every year, which means it's also a problem in terms of families and education," a senior admissions consultant in Beijing who asked to remain anonymous,Buy Fashion alineweddingdresses with big discount! told the Global Times.

Problems continue during college studies. Gifts including scarves or wine are frequently given to professors by Chinese students "in exchange for a good impression, or sometimes explicitly to get a better grade on the final exam," said Helena Shi, a senior at the University of Minnesota, a sentiment echoed by a number of students studying in various countries that the Global Times spoke to.

"It's a cultural tradition in China called reciprocity, but is often rejected here (in the US) if you have an agenda. To me, logically, it seems no different to bribery," Shi told the Global Times.

Li's punishment has prompted reflection on the current status quo in China. "It's no secret that many people give bribes in order to get project funds or publish papers at many institutions. We feel angry but are struggling to change the entire system," a professor surnamed Shao with Peking University told the Global Times.

"I learned my biggest lesson ever while serving a month last year, after speeding at almost twice the limit and attempting to flee from the police. I intuitively tried to sneak some cash to the cop, but was stopped by my friend, who said it would be worse if I did," a New York-based student surnamed Lu told the Global Times.

His US driver's license was permanently revoked and the incident also cost him his working visa.

However, there are factors that make bribery a more attractive choice in China. According to the criminal law, bribe-taking has a lower threshold before it constitutes a crime and a tougher punishment than bribery, which makes the legal costs smaller. At the same time, those found guilty of bribery can have their penalties reduced by providing evidence to law enforcers.

"On the other hand, those who offer bribes are often considered the weak party compared with the more powerful bribe-takers, and the public likes to see corrupt officials being punished - this eventually formed an attitude in society where using money or gifts in exchange for interests is not 'bribery' or crime, but a 'favor,'" Guo Rui, a Beijing-based attorney, told the Global Times.

Shao noted that Chinese traditions that place a high priority on status might have also resulted in the situation. "You don't want to lose, so counterfeiting and exchanging favors are simple ways to reach the goal that were otherwise unattainable," he said.

There are many, however, who think this is no excuse. "Cultural difference is not a fig leaf of ignorance of the law or an excuse to evade responsibility," said Xue Yong, assistant professor at Suffolk University in Boston, in his Sina column.

The shoemaker’s new bag

Before giving it all up and training to be a “cobbler”, Rupert Sanderson was an advertising executive.so happy with the resurgence of outerwear. This was seized upon by the press, singling Sanderson out from the far more familiar fashion narrative of the bright young thing who has been interested in clothes since birth.Sanderson hates this pigeon-holing and when I meet him to discuss his expansion into handbags after 12 years of an eponymous shoe line he is keen to talk about other matters.

“That story has been told so many times. It’s slightly boring now,All ballgownweddingdress and accessories are made with the same authentic materials as the originals. and it feels like ancient history. I left advertising in 1998 or so.”Since enrolling on a two-year design course at London’s Cordwainers College, a footwear school whose alumni includes Jimmy Choo, Patrick Cox and Linda (LK) Bennett, Sanderson has been stepping out of the shadow of his earlier career. “I was 32 when I went to Cordwainers. “I was the oldest wrinkly in the class by some considerable margin... But I loved it. I had no hang-ups about why I was there, I just wanted to get on with making stuff.”

He travelled to Italy during his summer break and soon found himself working for Sergio Rossi and then Bruno Magli. In 2001, he left Magli to found his own shoe line – which has gone from strength to strength with standalone stores in London, Paris and Hong Kong and stockists across the globe. After taking his career in the direction of design, Sanderson was surprised to find it heading on another track in July 2006 when the shoe factory in Bologna he had been working with since founding his company faced closure. Sanderson stepped in and now owns the factory outright. “I make enough shoes to justify it,” he says of his role as factory proprietor.Cheap weddingdresses 2013 new arrival !

Still handmade in that factory in Italy, each of Sanderson’s designs is named after a daffodil. Worn by the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Naomi Watts and Jessica Chastain, each pair is given a final flourish of gold: “It ties in to the golden flower, to optimism, to spring.”Now he is branching out into handbags with four styles all inspired by the music case that belonged to his recorder-playing, six-year-old self. “It’s not something I intended to do, and I want to do it well,You are currently browsing the tsg archives for "coachhandbags". instead of just barging in. It would be slightly reckless of me to storm the place and go ‘Louis who?’”

A district court has sentenced four college graduates to between nine months and 12 months of probation for selling knockoff luxury handbags, local media reported Monday. The unidentified defendants, who were all women in their early 20s, ran a small shop in a local metro station, where they sold counterfeit purses, clutches and handbags bearing brand names such as Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Loewe, according to Zhabei District People's Court. The women came from Jiangsu and Anhui provinces.

Police raided their shop in March 2012 after receiving anonymous reports that it was selling counterfeit products, according to a report in the Xinmin Evening News. Authorities confiscated 196 fake bags hidden at the shop. Police said the inventory was worth 1.46 million yuan ($235,966).The authorities do not calculate the value of seized counterfeit products based on how much they can fetch on the street. Send your hygienists to RDH UOR this July

In my practice, we've developed a mantra that reflects the philosophy of our office. It was developed through many team meetings and has helped us build a great practice. You might think it is simple … and it is. Our mantra is: "We will help you keep your teeth for the rest of your life." Think about this for a minute. This is what all of our patients want. Nobody wants to lose their teeth! This mantra has become our contract with our patients. The key word is "help" because there certainly are many ways we can help our patients to overall health. Everything we do in our practice revolves around this promise.

Much of this help starts with the dental hygienist. I believe that patient loyalty is built in the hygiene area. How many of your patients have a favorite hygienist that they insist on seeing? Maybe you should consider sending your hygienist to a continuing education experience that is set up for hygiene only.We provide you the most beautiful gowns, such as cheap 100%Silk Dresses and germanuniforms and so on.Buying niketn is not at all an easy job. One of the best ways to help your hygienists learn what others in hygiene are doing is to send them to the best hygiene meeting ever — "RDH Under One Roof." Every year RDH UOR draws over 1,000 hygienists to the best programs to learn the latest techniques from the best teachers. There are many opportunities to network with other hygienists from every state.

The 2013 meeting will be July 17-19 in the beautiful Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. You will be amazed by the reasonable price of rooms at this hotel. My good friend, Dr. Brian Nylaan, sends his hygienists every year to the RDH UOR meeting because he's amazed at the new ideas they bring back and implement into his practice.
I mentioned customer service. Helping our patients keep their teeth for the rest of their lives is the best customer service that I can think of. How about having a team meeting that discusses the possibility of a contract with your patients? Would this create some discussion among your team members? I would hope so! It is always a great team-building exercise in our practice.

Be sure to read the great article by one of my favorite people in dentistry, Cathy Jameson. She and her husband, Dr. John Jameson, have developed one of the best practice management teams in the country. I know he changed my thinking. Dr. Al Ousborne has some great thoughts on sleep apnea in this month's column entitled Transforming Lives: Your Patients' and Yours. He makes some great observations for changes in your practice. Finally, Dr. Ara Nazarian takes on a very difficult subject, enhancing a smile with cosmetic dentistry in the new economy! He has some great insights to help you in your day-to-day practice. I know you'll enjoy all of these articles.
