Disorder can improve the performance

Scientists have spent decades trying to build flexible plastic solar cells efficient enough to compete with conventional cells made of silicon.View the latest dsquaredshoes and Purses online at Bag Borrow or Steal. To boost performance, research groups have tried creating new plastic materials that enhance the flow of electricity through the solar cell. Several groups expected to achieve good results by redesigning pliant polymers of plastic into orderly, silicon-like crystals, but the flow of electricity did not improve.

Recently, scientists discovered that disorder at the molecular level actually improves the polymers' performance. Now Stanford University researchers have an explanation for this surprising result. Their findings, published in the Aug.Great handbags and affordableoneshoulderweddingdresses for men and women! 4 online edition of the journal Nature Materials, could speed up the development of low-cost, commercially available plastic solar cells.

"People used to think that if you made the polymers more like silicon they would perform better," said study co-author Alberto Salleo, an associate professor of materials science and engineering at Stanford. "But we found that polymers don't naturally form nice, well-ordered crystals. They form small, disordered ones, and that's perfectly fine."

In the study, the Stanford team focused on a class of organic materials known as conjugated or semiconducting polymers – chains of carbon atoms that have the properties of plastic, and the ability to absorb sunlight and conduct electricity.

Discovered nearly 40 years ago, semiconducting polymers have long been considered ideal candidates for ultrathin solar cells, light-emitting diodes and transistors. Unlike silicon crystals used in rooftop solar panels,For those inquiring, I did not buy the coachhandbags. semiconducting polymers are lightweight and can be processed at room temperature with ink-jet printers and other inexpensive techniques. So why aren't buildings today covered with plastic solar cells?

"One reason they haven't been commercialized is because of poor performance," Salleo said. "In a solar cell, electrons need to move through the materials fast, but semiconducting polymers have poor electron mobility."

To find out why, Salleo joined Rodrigo Noriega and Jonathan Rivnay, who were Stanford graduate students at the time, in analyzing more than two decades of experimental data. "Over the years, many people designed stiffer polymers with the goal of making highly organized crystals, but the charge mobility remained relatively poor," Salleo said. "Then several labs created polymers that looked disordered and yet had very high charge mobility. It was a puzzle why these new materials worked better than the more structured crystalline ones."

To observe the disordered materials at the microscopic level, the Stanford team took samples to the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory for X-ray analysis. The X-rays revealed a molecular structure resembling a fingerprint gone awry. Some polymers looked like amorphous strands of spaghetti,Stay up to date on the latest team rider and womenssandals releases. while others formed tiny crystals just a few molecules long.

"The crystals were so small and disordered you could barely infer their presence from X-rays," Salleo said. "In fact, scientists had assumed they weren't there."

By analyzing light emissions from electricity flowing through the samples, the Stanford team determined that numerous small crystals were scattered throughout the material and connected by long polymer chains, like beads in a necklace. The small size of the crystals was a crucial factor in improving overall performance, Salleo said.

"Being small enables a charged electron to go through one crystal and rapidly move on to the next one," he said. "The long polymer chain then carries the electron quickly through the material. That explains why they have a much higher charge mobility than larger, unconnected crystals."

Another disadvantage of large crystalline polymers is that they tend to be insoluble and therefore cannot be produced by ink-jet printing or other cheap processing technologies, he added.

"Our conclusion is that you don't need to make something so rigid that it forms large crystals," Salleo said. "You need to design something with small, disordered crystals packed close together and connected by polymer chains. Electrons will move through the crystals like on a superhighway, ignoring the rest of the plastic material, which is amorphous and poorly conducting.

"In some sense, the synthetic chemists were ahead of us, because they made these new materials but didn't know why they worked so well," Cheap paneraireplica on sale in our shop christian louboutin.he said. "Now that they know, they can go out and design even better ones."

2-10 Infantry tests

The 2nd Battalion, 10th Infantry Regiment,This kind of organza valuableedhardy features off-the-shoulder and sweetheart design. and the German Liaison’s office hosted testing for the German Armed Forces Badge for Military Proficiency last week, giving more than 100 Soldiers from the 3rd Chemical Brigade and 14th Military Police Brigade the chance to earn either the gold, silver or bronze badge.

Lt. Col. James Lock, 2nd Bn., 10th Infantry Reg. commander, said he hijacked the idea from Alpha Company after they presented it to him this spring. He said he wanted to make this great opportunity available to more than just one company.

In order for units to hold this event, they must have a German officer or non-commissioned-officer of at least an E-6 rank present to supervise.

“We do it all time here at Fort Leonard Wood, and it’s really nice to go out and to see the Soldiers and (the challenges),” said Sgt. Major Joerg Phol, Maneuver Support Center of Excellence German liaison.

The challenges for this award include sport disciplines with pull ups, sprints, 1000 meter run, and a 100 meter swim in duty uniform in under four minutes, after which the participant must remove their uniform while treading water.

There is also a military part that includes a first aid test, road march, and pistol qualification with an M9. Cumulative points must add up to more than 400 to qualify for the gold, 300-399 for the silver, and 200-299 for the bronze badge.

“(Swimming) 100 meters in under four minutes in ACUs is not easy, I know. In the United States, the most people fail in this event (compared to the other events tested),” Pohl said.

According to Capt. Jacob Nussrallah, 2nd Bn., 10th Infantry Reg. S-3, they lost the most participants during the swim and the M9 qualification. However, not everyone had a difficult time with the swim; some found it to be one of the easier challenges.

“This is something that I’ve wanted to do for a while now, actually since I’ve known about it,” said Staff Sgt. Jesse Frederick, Company A, 787th Military Police Battalion. “I did pretty well in the swim, I’m happy with my time.”

The GAPBMP was introduced into the German Armed Forces in February 1971. For the German Soldiers,We invite you to experience choose pnikeairshoes for you. this is an annual event that must be completed as a prerequisite for the German non-commissioned and commissioned officer.

Lock noted that the 14th MP brigade supplied additional ammo, weapons and cadre to help with this event and that it was a success in part due to their support.

In the end there were 21 gold badges awarded, 29 silver, and only six bronze.

I really would like the community to get behind us and push us

Pam McGee pops up on Flint AAU basketball team, yelling motivation to young shooters

Playing for Denver Nuggets center JaVale McGee's Do The Right Thing (DTRT) All-Stars AAU team is a privilege.

His mother,Work a crowd in this evening gown from germanuniforms. Pamela McGee, a former WNBA player from Flint, let that be known Wednesday at the old Flint Powers Catholic gymnasium. Pam McGee took some time away from her busy schedule to pop up in her hometown and scare the young basketball players straight with a motivational spill -- in front of their parents.

She preached dignity, integrity, education, and the importance of "grinding" to Coach Robbie Brown's four DTRT teams.

"I just want you guys to know that I'm here because I care about you, I don't have to do this program here in Flint, Michigan," Pam shouted. "I don't have to.

"Not everybody's going to be in our program because we're trying to do some things different up in here and I'm OK with that because I didn't get my son to the NBA easy, I had to sacrifice."

When JaVale played at Detroit Country Day in High School, Pam says she sacrificed by living at a Flint Howard Johnson Hotel in a one-room bedroom for an entire year because she couldn't afford to stay anywhere else and pay for his schooling. She made him earn everything, though, by not spoiling him with allowance and making him work odd jobs for money. She taught him skill sets outside of basketball and that was her purpose of returning home to help DTRT's youth in the same fashion.

"Sometimes, you've got to sacrifice to get where you want to go," Pamela yelled. "Ain't nobody going to give you nothing. It's a grind.Compare Supra shoes price and read chiffonbridesmaiddress reviews before you buy. So what's the difference between me and everybody else? I'm not going to let nobody determine my destiny. We're out here using basketball to get to our next level so don't get it twisted."

Brown, DTRT's co-founder/executive director, placed a call in to Pam McGee so that she could show up to let the kids know how serious the program was. He also wanted to shed light on the upcoming Do The Right Thing Youth Center that could get built as early as 2014. Brown wants more sponsors to step up to the plate to help him make his dream become a reality with the youth center.

"I really would like the community to get behind us and push us," said Brown, who registered the DTRT non-profit organization with his wife in 2007. "I hope that all of the guys that were able to make it out of here successfully will be able to come back and reach out – outside of JaVale and his mom. I think there's a little more extra help we have in the community that needs to step up.Elegant authenticmonclerjackets features in chiffon."

DTRT is looking to build a 75,000-square-foot center with a gym, auditorium, classrooms, and a café to offer mentoring, tutors, and parenting classes for free. The entire building could get built with $250,000.

One of the ways his teams are raising money is through Flying Buddah T-shirts for a minimum of $5. Pam McGee rewarded 12-year old Mekyle Harris with a $100 bill during her speech for selling $235 worth of shirts.

"I was happy about that $100 because I didn't have that money," Harris said. "She is teaching me how to be independent and be responsible by getting out here and grinding."

Scoring on shoes

Joe Garland and his brother, Ed, definitely made a big impression at the recent Cove football camp.

Size 14 — to be exact, for one player. Another player was focused intently on finding just the right shoe and checking out several while never letting a pair he really liked out of his sight — or grasp.

During a lunch break at the football camp for small schools from Washington, Idaho and Eastern Oregon, the Cove gym became a makeshift shoe store with very simple pricing.Shop the latest shoxshoes on the world's largest fashion site.

All pairs of shoes were $40.

Not $80 or $120 like some sports shoes might cost, Joe Garland said. “A lot of the parents are spending more than $130.”

At a small town, small school football camp, players from small rural schools were shopping for shoes — and enjoying it.

Originally,2013 Collection germanarmyuniforms 1672 Styles. the idea the brothers had was to buy surplus shoes from local colleges and professional teams and sell them to area high schools.

It has become much more than that, with a website where parents can buy a large assortment of shoes online, as well as creating a summer circuit of football and sports camps throughout the Northwest. The brothers, both raised in Eastern Oregon, travel with a large trailer of shoes.

In the Cove gym, players from Washington state’s Sunnyside Christian and White Swan schools were among those examining the shoes, alongside players from Echo and Cove.

For the budding prep football players from small towns in three states at the football camp, it was a chance to have a big shoe store come to them.

But for the Garland brothers, it was more than just business.

Both have been involved in sports all their lives. Ed used to work for the University of Oregon’s equipment department. He was a student manager at the university for seven years, before moving on to be an assistant equipment manager. He also was the head equipment manager at the University of California, Berkeley for seven years, until 2011.

But the brothers were looking for something new to do and be able to work together. The embroiderylace is a stylish down jacket made in Canada.

Then they got the idea about reselling surplus shoes.

It hasn’t quite turned out the way the La Grande native and his brother had planned. “We were just going to buy the shoes and sell them online,” Joe Garland said.

Now, there is a lot more travel involved in the business.

Shoe U deals in surplus athletic footwear online, selling shoes that college and professional teams had purchased, but never used.

To the colleges and teams, the shoes are just overstock. They are also still new in the boxes.

But the brothers now spend a lot of their time on the road during the summer months.

“From May through Labor Day we are extremely busy,” Joe Garland said. “We take our trailer loaded with shoes to high schools and small colleges around the Northwest and attend numerous football camps and clinics.welcome to our new store castellicycling. It keeps us very busy and on our toes.”

For the Garland brothers, the shoes have created a new business that keeps them still involved in sports. “We saw an opportunity to help schools and athletes purchase new shoes at a discounted price,” the brothers explained on the company website. “These are brand-new shoes that are still in the box, and are a year removed from the current line of shoes the manufacturer requires major college players to wear on game day.”

Since colleges were restricted from donating shoes to high schools or players because of possible recruiting violations, the shoes were usually warehoused. Sometimes, that could mean as many as 500 pairs of shoes were not being used, Joe Garland said during a quiet moment in the Cove gym.

Behind him, his brother, Ed, was still looking for a size 14 pair of shoes for a quarterback/defensive lineman from Council, Idaho.

The Garlands had Nike, Adidas, New Balance and other brands on display on a row of folding tables. Behind the tables, the brothers had dozens of large cardboard boxes with even more selections.

The business isn’t completely focused on the football shoes. The company website also has listings for shoes designed for lacrosse, basketball, rugby, softball, soccer, golf, track and field, tennis, volleyball and wrestling. They all have the same pricing, according to Joe Garland. The shoes are no more than $40, with a few priced even less.

The company is based in Salem, but on weekends the brothers may be on the road, traveling to different high school sports camps.

“A lot of these coaches said if we wanted to come over and set up tables at the camps for the kids,” Joe Garland said. “This was the second year we attended the Cove 8-man football camp and we have already made plans with Camp Director Jason Gorman to return again next year.”

The two brothers will be back in La Grande July 22 when they will be at Eastern Oregon University for another football camp.

According to Tim Camp, the head football coach at EOU and the instructor at the Cove camp, having the shoe company there made the camp that much better.Jovani designer prom dresses and celebrity style lacebodystockings for prom. “It was a win-win. It is great for the camp. It is great for the kids, coming here and buying good football shoes for just $40,” he said.

Joe Garland said he enjoys the trip out to Eastern Oregon. He was born in La Grande and graduated from Vale High School in the late 1970s. His brother graduated from Ontario High School in 1981. He still has strong ties to the Grande Ronde Valley. “My dad coached Bill Burns years ago,” Joe Garland said. Burns is now the athletic director at La Grande High School.

Garland’s father also played football at EOU for Archie Dunsmoor, he added. Dunsmoor is still the only football coach at EOU to have won a conference title in the sport. He did it in 1956, when he guided the then Eastern Oregon College Mountaineers to a win over Southern Oregon College in Ashland to claim the crown.

Phone-gloves project upcycles discarded mobiles

Recycled mobile phones have been given a fashionable new lease of life as part of an "upcycling" collaboration between O2 Recycling and artist Sean Miles.

Part of the O2 Recycle project, the phone-gloves offer a way to turn old gadgets that would otherwise have gone to waste into once again desirable items. They can be connected through Bluetooth to any existing mobile phone handset, which is resting, for example, in the user's pocket.

The wearer can make calls using their gloved hand, held in the shape of an imaginary telephone, courtesy of a speaker unit embedded in the thumb and a microphone in the little finger.

Dubbed “Talk to the Hand,Shop for buywatches online.” the gloves were created by Miles, who has used Mui Mui and Pineider gloves and combined them with parts from mobile handsets recycled through O2.

“I hope that my Talk to the Hand project will get people to think again about the waste created by not recycling gadgets,” Sean Miles said. “While these might not be for everyone, there are hundreds of other uses that old phones can be put to – from being reconditioned and used again to being mined for their components. If a few more people recycle their gadgets rather than send them to landfill, I think this project will have fulfilled its aim.”

According to O2 Recycle, there are already 70 million unused mobile handsets in the UK and there are an additional 30 million new phones sold annually. O2 Recycle, which is part of the O2 Think Big environment initiative, offers cash payments for those who find new and creative ways to recycle not just phones, but also tablets, MP3 players, handheld consoles, digital cameras and SatNavs.

“We’ve all got a bit of a use and dispose of mentality when it comes to gadgets we no longer have use for, but in actual fact we all have a role to play in extending the lives of the devices we use," said Bill Eyres, head of O2 Recycle. "Not least because people like us at O2 Recycle will pay cash to those who do the green thing and recycle.”

The “Talk to the Hand” mobile phone gloves are the second product in a series that O2 Recycle and Miles have created. The first were “Walkie Talkies” combining vintage footwear (including a brogue, Nike Air trainer, Hunter Wellies and a Christian Louboutin high heel shoe) with old handsets to create customised,We offer Cheap shoeswholesale with top quality and discount price. fully-functional phones.

Miles is now working on combining phones with handbags – so people don’t spend time rummaging around in their bags to find a phone when it rings.

Launching in the northern autumn, Tom Ford for Men will include "nine multifunctional skin-care and grooming products, including a face cleanser, moisturizer, eye treatment, purifying mud mask, concealer and bronzing gel," WWD reported.

Ford isn't the first designer to venture in to the world of make-up for men.

Earlier this year Marc Jacobs teamed with Sephora to create a range of unisex beauty loot.

At the time of the expansion, Jacobs explained to Huffington Post: "I like the transformative qualities of fashion and fashion to me is not just clothing, it's handbags, it's shoes,We provide you the most beautiful gowns, such as cheap 100%Silk Dresses and germanww2uniforms and so on. it's clothes, it's hair, it's makeup, it's fragrance, it's the whole ritual of making those choices, of enjoying the ritual, of making the choices that will tell the world who you want to be that day."

Meanwhile, a recent survey of 1000 men in the US and UK conducted by JWT (a marketing communications company), found that guys are feeling increasing pressure to make themselves look beautiful.

The study, entitled "The State of Men," took a peek at what products men are turning to most.

Shoes from the Red Goose

My family purchased a new pair of shoes for me only when I outgrew my old ones. I was glad to go to the Red Goose Store on the west side of the square in Tyler to buy the new shoes. The sign hanging in the front window of the store featured a pair of boy’s high-top white shoes. Across the top of the sign were the words, “Action Shoes For Boys And Girls.” A line of copy across the bottom said, “They’re Half The Fun Of Having Feet.”

Buying the shoes was a double treat. First, Mama and I had to make a trip from Chandler to downtown Tyler in our old red truck. Then, the greatest enjoyment came from our visit to the Red Goose Store itself.

The children’s section was located on the right side of the store, filled with new and unusual shoes on display. But upon entering the store, my eyes transfixed on the strange futuristic machine prominently displayed in the center. Just knowing I would soon use this contraption prompted me to pick a pair quickly. Even though there was a sign that said, “There’s A Fit For Every Foot And A Price For Every Purse,” I knew to pick a cheaper pair.

After putting on the shoes, I hurriedly ran to this fantastic contraption, stepped up to a platform, and inserted my feet into two slots. This amazing machine was the store’s fluoroscope for kids, an actual x-ray machine mounted in a cabinet. Its purpose was to show how my feet fit within my new shoes. It cast a pale green glow that allowed me to see my feet and toe bones inside the shoes. Two additional view slots were located on the cabinet so my mother and the salesperson could also see.All saxobankcycling and accessories are made with the same authentic materials as the originals.

I loved leaning over and peering through the view slot’s lens, wiggling my toes squirming under the x-ray. Invariably Mama would interrupt my fun and say, “Son, stop wiggling your toes so we can see how your shoes fit.”

After our purchase, the salesperson would always hand me a gift, another reason I loved the Red Goose Shoe Store. Gifts they offered children were things like whistles, spinning tops, pin back buttons, a small red chalk goose, a pencil box, 40s area play money and plastic advertising tokens. This time, mine was a bright yellow metal clicker with a red goose illustrated on the top, like the one accompanying this article. On the way home, I’m sure I nearly drove my mother crazy with the loud clicking noise my clicker made whenever I pressed it! The Red Goose Store was more than just a place to buy shoes—it was always an adventure.

The Strong Man at His Weakest

"Re-cep Tay-yip Er-do-gan! Re-cep Tay-yip Er-do-gan!" chanted supporters of the Turkish prime minister, as a friend and I made our way through the absolutely mammoth crowd that descended on the Kazlicesme area of Istanbul last Sunday to hear their leader speak. As with Erdogan's rally in the capital, Ankara, the day before, the people who turned out here, many of whom were decked out in scarves, T-shirts, and masks supporting the prime minister, vastly outnumbered the Gezi Park protesters who have captured global headlines. Young, old, well-to-do, decidedly modest, religious, and secular all declared their devotion to the Justice and Development Party (AKP) and Erdogan. When the prime minister surveyed the 295,000 souls who had come to express their devotion and thundered, "Taksim Square is not Turkey!" it was a vindication of his vision, his economic policies, and the strength of his leadership. Yet the irony was that at Kazlicesme, Erdogan's demonstration of strength revealed his profound weakness and political vulnerability.

Anyone with even a passing interest in Turkey knows something about the Erdogan mystique. He's the tough guy from the Kasimpasa neighborhood -- literally and figuratively down a steep slope from Taksim Square -- who has remade Turkey over the last decade. For the media personalities parachuted into a maelstrom of tear gas, water cannons, and pepper spray, Turkey under Erdogan is best described as an economic and political success story, a "model" of a "Muslim democracy and prosperity" for the Arab world. But Erdogan's reservoir of support is based on a much more tangible set of factors. The fact that he presides over the 17th-largest economy in the world -- it was the 16th in the 1990s -- is less important than the fact that more people are participating in it than ever before. There are still fabulously wealthy and terribly poor people in Turkey, but the overall gap between the two has narrowed. That is no small accomplishment. In other high-growth countries like Brazil, China, and Russia, for example, that gap has grown.

Consistent with the kind of grassroots work that the AKP's precursor, the Welfare Party, perfected in the 1980s and 1990s, Erdogan -- the guy who used to sell the Turkish version of the bagel, called simit, from a cart on the street -- has focused much of his time in office on improving the lives of ordinary Turks. In places where transportation was thin, health care was basic, and government services were non-existent, the prime minister has paved roads, built airports,Most people only dream of owning a guccisunglasses . established "Erdogan-care," and forced local governments to be responsive to their constituents.Great handbags and replicalouisvuitton for men and women! As a result, Kasimpasa is not so rough-and-tumble anymore and the people there love him for it.

Economics does not explain everything, however. Erdogan, whose political skills are unrivaled in Turkey, has an innate ability to appeal to his core constituents and,Cheap ballgown on sale in our shop christian louboutin. until not too long ago, beyond. His fiery and emotional rhetoric gets most of the attention, but it is framed around a folksy common sense that resonates across the country. When a law restricting the sale of alcohol to certain times and places came under fire from secular elites, many average Turks may have winced at Erdogan's oblique reference to the fact that Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and his deputy Ismet Inonu were alcoholics, but they also could not figure out what all the fuss was about. For them, the fact that liquor can be sold around schools and mosques at any time of day to anyone of any age offends a basic sense of right and wrong -- to say nothing of piety.

Nothing reinforced the wholesome values of Erdogan and his constituency more than the pedestal upon which the policemen were placed at the Kazlicesme rally. At the center of the city, where the black-clad and helmeted riot police were busy expending copious amounts of tear gas against their fellow Turks, the AKP rally was a law-and-order love fest. When police moved about on the streets adjacent to the site, the throngs parted ways and cheered for them. Young officers who had been brought into Istanbul for the event could not help but blush. The cops were relaxed, even chit-chatty. Unlike their colleagues who were engaged in a pitched battle in and around Istiklal Street at about the same time,Shop the Latest menhoodies. the biggest problem for the police at the AKP rally was helping two foreigners find an outlet to recharge dying or dead iPhones.

Of course, Erdogan has become the sun around which Turkish politics revolves in part because his formal, parliamentary opposition has nothing to offer Turks. One of the many ironies of the last three weeks has been the indignation of the opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) over the prime minister's authoritarian drift. Hardly a paragon of democratic governance itself, the CHP can count on the support of a hard-core base that represents the Kemalist elite. Their commitment to a diverse and democratic Turkey is suspect, at best. The party of Ataturk is a relic of the past and, like the variety of lesser parties who have shown up in Taksim Square to show their colors, they appeal to a narrow slice of the electorate.

For Erdogan and his supporters,Custom made mandarindress? the rallies in Ankara and Istanbul only reinforced the AKP's mastery of the political arena. It was hard not to feel this energy and vibe in the carnival-like atmosphere of Kazlicesme. As one homemade placard declared: "Today is Turkey's Day!" Yet there was a dark underside to Erdogan's demonstration of power. The man holding the sign could have been appealing for Turkish unity, but in the context of the last three weeks, he was advancing the idea that Erdogan has consistently perpetuated -- the notion that the Gezi Park protesters were somehow not good Turks.

He never arrived.Early this morning his body was discovered dumped in the veld. His hands were tied behind his back and his feet were bound. The exact cause of his death was not known. The officer, who has been identified as Johannesburg police cluster commander Maj-Gen Tirhani Simon Maswanganyi, was dressed in civilian clothes. On Tuesday morning police officers combed the area and a helicopter hovered above as the officers searched for clues.

Describing how the gruesome discovery was made, provincial police spokesman Brigadier Neville Malila said police officers patrolling the area saw Maswanganyi’s bakkie next to the R101 at about 6pm on Monday. The bakkie’s doors were open, but there was no one inside.

When the officers went up to the vehicle, they discovered a police uniform and a police identification certificate. The officers immediately went to his wife’s house and she informed them that her husband had left for work, as normal, earlier in the day.Malila said the officer usually stayed in Joburg during the week because of the distance.

But because it was the weekend he had been at his family home in Hammanskraal. Sunday would have marked the start of his work week. After speaking to Maswanganyi’s wife, they immediately suspected something was wrong and began a search for him.“The officers returned to the scene with sniffer dogs and started searching the area.We provide you the most beautiful gowns, such as cheap 100%Silk Dresses and germanww2uniforms and so on. They area is very bushy, has tall grass and there is also a dumping site nearby.

“They only found the body early this morning,2013 Collection germanarmyuniforms 1672 Styles.” Malila said.
While the cause of death was not known, Malila said it did not look as if the officer had been shot.“But there was blood where he was found.“It is also not known whether he had been assaulted or not, but that could be a possibility due to the fact that blood was at the scene,” he said.

A post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death.Maswanganyi did not carry a service pistol as he was office bound.Malila said it was not yet known whether he had been robbed of his valuables. He said the police were investigating, and that further details would be released once more was known.

Gauteng commissioner Lt-Gen Mzwandile Petros told Sapa on Tuesday afternoon: "We will do everything in our power to locate and bring the perpetrators of this crime to book.

"I have assembled a team of detectives under the leadership of the deputy provincial commissioner for detective services, Maj-Gen Tebello Mosikili, and investigators from the provincial investigation unit and organised crime to investigate the murder,Choose from wide range of canadagoosecoats to buy online." said Petros.

The Democratic Alliance sent its condolences to Maswanganyi's family, friends, and colleagues."By all accounts he was a dedicated policeman who keenly felt the need to make a difference in the fight against crime," DA MPL Kate Lorimer said in a statement.

Soldiers from Linton Military Camp are sporting a different look after a new uniform rollout.

The new multi-terrain camouflage design is an all-in-one replacement for the former disruptive pattern material and desert patterns currently used in the army, proving itself effective in both forested and desert environments, as well as urban areas.

Captain Ian Leabourne said the outgoing uniform was introduced in 1997, but underwent a style change in 2006.

Cost savings would not be known until after the new uniform had been in service for a period so usage and wear rates could be compared with the current uniform.

The new pattern was chosen from 12 options and tested at Waiouru, where the selection was narrowed down to five in 2011.

Two of the patterns went forward to testing in sandy terrain at Kaipara Air Weapons Range, in forest north of Auckland and in urban terrain at Whenuapai Airbase, before a final aesthetics vote. The winning pattern received 80 per cent of the vote.

A Defence communications spokesman said the old uniforms would be inspected and all serviceable items put to use equipping recruits, officer cadets and air force personnel until stocks were exhausted.Buy cheapreplicawatches for men and women here.

Coaches pushing the envelope with offers to 8th graders

Mark Stoops has an eye for talent. In less than seven months as Kentucky's football coach, he has made significant inroads in recruiting.

But isn't he jumping the gun on this one?

Last week, Stoops offered a scholarship to a 13-year-old that hasn't yet begun the eighth grade. Defensive back Jairus Brents was participating in a football camp on the Kentucky campus when he received the offer.

COUNTDOWN: College football top 125

TV SCHEDULE: 2013 college football

I have no doubt Brents is talented beyond his years. But isn't 13 a little young for this?

It's unusual but not unprecedented. In his first year as head coach at Southern Cal in 2010, Lane Kiffin offered a scholarship to quarterback David Sills of Elkton, Md., when he was in the seventh grade. Sills accepted the offer and plans to sign with the Trojans in the recruiting Class of 2015.

It remains to be seen if Sills will honor the commitment if Kiffin is no longer coaching at Southern Cal. Frankly, I'll be surprised if he makes it past this season.

But that hasn't kept Kiffin from continuing to invest in the futures market. He recently offered a scholarship to high school freshman-to-be wide receiver Nathan Tilford. Not to be outdone, UCLA's Jim Mora countered with an offer to quarterback Lindell Stone, who less than a month ago was finishing up eighth-grade classes.

And then there is Dylan Moses, a running back from Baton Rouge, La. He's already received scholarship offers from at least eight top-tier programs, including Alabama, LSU and Texas even though he has yet to start high school classes.

Isn't this a bit absurd, folks? Even with the proliferation of what amounts to scouting combines for young athletes, can you really project 13- and 14-year-olds into college football uniforms? These kids have barely graduated from Happy Meals at McDonald's. What's the rush?

It's a sign of the times. We're always looking for the next big thing, even when, as in the case of the 13-year-old Brents, the next big thing is 5-foot-8 and 152 pounds. We keep trending younger, for better or worse. And I think it's worse.

Look, there's a difference between trying to lock down commitments from players that already have made a mark in high school football and those that have yet to darken a high school huddle. Most programs have lined up several prospects that will be high school seniors this fall. Tennessee, for example, has 16 commitments for the Class of 214. Vanderbilt has nine.

Likewise,View the latest hotdress and Purses online at Bag Borrow or Steal. All saxobankcycling and accessories are made with the same authentic materials as the originals. the Class of 2015 is taking shape. Texas already is up to seven commitments in that class. Recruiting never sleeps. The bride wore an off the shoulder monclercoat with white flowers in her hair.

As for the offer to the 13-year-old Brents, maybe we should take it for what it is. Either Stoops is trying to get a head start on the Class of 2018 or he's doing whatever is necessary to keep Kentucky football in the public eye. Either way, he's succeeding.

This would be low by Big Blue basketball standards but is unprecedented for Wildcats football. Finding Kentucky near the top of the nation in football recruiting is like seeing Justin Bieber on the featured stage at Bonnaroo. Some things simply don't fit.

Credit Stoops for ignoring conventional wisdom.A turquoisebeads is the most formal female attire for social occasions. One of the most popular ones are fake watches, fitchshirt illegally produced copies of authentic Rolex watches. First, he took the Kentucky coaching job when other candidates saw it as career suicide. Second, he chose to go head-to-head with college football's elite in pursuit of top prospects rather than fall back into Kentucky's customary position of taking the leftovers. And it's working.

Turkey unrest goes on despite end to park protest

Riot police cordoned off streets, set up roadblocks and fired tear gas and water cannon to prevent anti-government protesters from converging on Istanbul's central Taksim Square on Sunday, unbowed even as Turkey's prime minister addressed hundreds of thousands of supporters a few kilometers away.

The contrasting scenes pointed to an increasing polarization in Turkish society _ one which critics say Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has fueled with the fiery rhetoric he has maintained since they began more than two weeks ago.

A police crackdown Saturday evening that ended an 18-day peaceful sit-in at Taksim Square's Gezi Park sparked daylong unrest on the streets of Istanbul, while police also broke up demonstrations in the capital, Ankara, and the southern city of Adana.

The protests began in Gezi Park more than two weeks ago and spread to dozens of cities across the country. Erdogan has blamed them on a nebulous plot to destabilize his government. Five people, including a policeman, have died and more than 5,000 have been injured, according to a Turkish rights group.

Elected to his third term just two years ago with 50 percent of the vote and having steered his country to healthy economic growth, the protests are unlikely to prove an immediate threat to Erdogan's government. But they have dented his international image and exposed growing divisions within Turkish society. Never before in his 10-year tenure has Erdogan faced such an open or broad expression of discontent.

Critics have accused him of an increasingly autocratic way of governing and of trying to impose his conservative Muslim views on the lifestyles of the entire population in a country governed by secular laws _ charges he vehemently denies.

"They say, `Mr. prime minister,Charming but sophisticated, this long soft popularjeans mesh stunner is the perfect wedding dress for fall! you are too harsh,' and some (call me) `dictator'," he said during his speech in his second political rally in as many days. "What kind of a dictator meets with people who occupy Gezi Park as well as the sincere environmentalists?" he questioned, referring to a meeting Thursday night with protest representatives.

Erdogan defended his decision to send police in to end the occupation of the park, where protesters had set up a tent city complete with a library, food distribution center, infirmary, children's activity area and plant nursery. Water cannon and tear gas forced thousands to flee, and cleanup crews ripped down the tents and food overnight.

"I did my duty as prime minister," he told his supporters. "Otherwise there would be no point in my being in office."

About 10 kilometers (six miles) away in the center of the city, police fired tear gas, water cannon and rubber bullets to disperse thousands of protesters trying to converge on Taksim Square. In some neighborhoods, protesters set up barricades across streets while youths threw stones at police.

In others, police broke up demonstrations with dense clouds of stinging tear gas that sent protesters fleeing into side streets. Some took refuge in nearby cafes and restaurants, where waiters clutched napkins to their faces to ward off the gas.

Similar scenes developed in Ankara, where around 50 demonstrators were injured,List of sunglasses Products. including a 20-year-old woman who was in critical condition after being hit in the back of her head with a tear gas canister,Big halterweddingdresses and Fitness is a family owned shop serving the Helena area since 1986. according to Selcuk Atalay, secretary-general of the Ankara Medical Association.

In the southern city of Adana, police clashed with stone-throwing demonstrators, the state-run Anadolu Agency said. A fight broke also broke out between the demonstrators, with one group trying to prevent the other from throwing stones at police.

Anadolu said a total of 105 people were detained in Ankara, including a Russian and an Iranian.A royaloak is the clothing worn by a bride during a wedding ceremony.

Rights group Amnesty International said more than 100 people were believed to have been detained during Saturday's demonstrations in Taksim and nearby districts, and said police were refusing to give details of their whereabouts.

Some among the thousands who fled Gezi Park during Saturday night's police operation had still not managed to return home by Sunday afternoon, fearing being arrested by the police. Erdogan has repeatedly labeled those who attended the park protests as troublemakers and illegal groups, although he has also said he understood the complaints of those who had truly environmental concerns at heart.

One young man who had been demonstrating for days in Taksim Square and Gezi Park, said that as he and his friends fled the police operation in Gezi Park, they ran into a group of men armed with iron bars who chased them through the streets. It was unclear who they were.

Kenan, who spoke on condition his full name not be used for fear of arrest or being targeted in reprisals, said the group took refuge in an apartment building, where they were still hiding late Sunday afternoon.

Labor unions called for a one-day strike that would include doctors, lawyers, engineers and civil servants in support of the protesters. Strikes, however, often have little visible impact on daily life in Turkey.

In a potentially worrying development suggestive of a possible escalation in the violence, Erdogan said two police officers had been injured by bullets fired during the overnight unrest.

"(One) was shot with a bullet in the stomach, the other was shot in the leg," he said.

On Sunday, TV footage showed police detaining white-jacketed medical personnel who had been helping treat injured protesters, leading them away with their hands cuffed behind their backs.

Istanbul Gov. Huseyin Avni Mutlu denied they were medical staff.

"They wore doctors' white coats but had nothing to do with medicine or health. In fact, one of them had seven separate criminal records for theft," he said on his Twitter account,Compare Supra shoes price and read chiffonbridesmaiddress reviews before you buy. contradicting earlier comments in which he had said several doctors had been detained.

Amnesty International noted that the health minister had previously stated that the improvised infirmaries set up by protesters to treat those injured in clashes or during police intervention were illegal and that doctors could face prosecution.

"It is completely unacceptable that doctors should be threatened with prosecution for providing medical attention for people in need," Andrew Gardner, Amnesty International's researcher on Turkey, said in a statement. "The doctors must be released immediately and any threat to prosecute them removed."

Tropical Storm Andrea brings flood watches to East Coast

The first named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season drenched the Southeastern U.S. but caused no major damage on Friday, marching up the East Coast as it brought the threat of weekend flooding as far north as New England.

After bringing rain, strong winds and even tornadoes to Florida, Andrea was losing its tropical characteristics on Friday even as it still packed maximum sustained winds of 45 mph (72 kph).

It was blamed for one traffic-related death in Virginia.

Tropical storm warnings remained in effect for North Carolina and southern Virginia, the National Hurricane Center in Miami said at 8 p.m. EDT Friday.

The storm's low-level center was losing definition but remained a threat to the East Coast while "evolving into a low-pressure center," said Darin Figurskey, a National Weather Service meteorologist in Raleigh, N.C.

What was left of the storm center was 75 miles southwest of Ocean City, Md., and moving northeastward at 35 mph.

Forecasters say Andrea could bring high winds, heavy rainfall, and localized coastal flooding through Saturday across the mid-Atlantic states and New England. Rainfall accumulations of 2 to 4 inches were possible along the Eastern Seaboard into coastal Maine, the hurricane center said. Winds near gale force were possible along the coast from the Delmarva Peninsula north to southern New Jersey, as well as coastal Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts.

Officials in the Mid-Atlantic region and Northeast were bracing for the storm. New York City activated its flash flooding plan, while flash flood watches were issued for northern Delaware,Choose cheap hermesbags on ourwebsite and save your money for really qualitative and durable fake watches. several Maryland counties, southeastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey and parts of New England.

The weather service reported that small streams and creeks in southeastern Pennsylvania were going over their banks Friday night. New York City's airports were experiencing flight delays, and Connecticut was reporting numerous lane closures on highway as cars spun out amid heavy rain.

The rainy weather washed out events such as NASCAR's Sprint Cup qualifying and the Washington Nationals Friday night home game.

Authorities in Virginia blamed heavy rain from the storm's outer bands for a fatal accident on Interstate 77 in the state's western mountains. William Petty, 57, of Lexington, S.C., died when a car in which he was a passenger hydroplaned while passing a tractor-trailer. He survived the crash, only to be killed moments later when the car was struck by second tractor-trailer, authorities said.

During the morning rush hour in Charleston, S.C., there was little evidence that the center of the storm was passing to the northwest beyond a few downed tree branches, gusty winds and some puddles in the street. The sun occasionally peeked through.

Derrec Becker with the South Carolina Emergency Management Division said the storm brought only a severe thunderstorm Friday. No injuries were reported, and there had been no reports of significant damage.

Mike Sprayberry of North Carolina Emergency Management told the Weather Channel that there had been some flash flooding and local road closures in the state but that "so far we have been quite fortunate."

Thousands of power outages were also reported.

Florida Gov. Rick Scott had warned Thursday of the risk of tornadoes, and officials said that eight were confirmed across the state.

Forecasters didn't expect major problems, however, along the most vulnerable parts of the coast such as North Carolina's Outer Banks, a popular tourist destination.

David Tweedie, 41, of Ocracoke, said an early-morning burst of rain and the forecast of another three hours or so of rain and wind on the Outer Banks island has done little to alter the day's routine for the roughly 1,000 year-round residents.

Authorities in coastal Bertie County, N.C., said a school bus with 32 elementary students on board slid off the road and into a ditch about 8 a.m. No injuries were reported.

A Coast Guard cutter and HC-130 Hercules airplane were called to rescue four adults aboard a 35-foot sailboat about 65 miles off Charleston, S.C. The sailboat's engine was disabled during the storm and left rocking in 15-foot seas and 35-mph winds.

Weakened Andrea breaks Northeast rainfall records

The first named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season smashed rainfall totals across the Northeast and pushed some streams and creeks over their banks but sped up the Eastern Seaboard without causing major damage.

A weakened Andrea shifted away from New England on Saturday morning with winds gusting up to 45 mph. The storm was expected to reach Canadian waters by Sunday.

Newark, N.J., saw 3.71 inches, breaking the previous mark of 1.11 inches set in 1931.

Late Friday, the National Hurricane Center in Miami discontinued all tropical storm warnings but cautioned about possible coastal and localized flooding from New Jersey to New England.

Officials in the Mid-Atlantic region and Northeast had prepared for it Friday night. New York City activated its flash flooding plan, and heavy rainfall resulted in flash floods, causing some sections of roadways to be closed throughout Long Island.

A number of roads were flooded in the Boston area. A flight that left Boston on Friday night headed to Palm Beach, Fla., was diverted to Newark Liberty International Airport after being struck by lightning. No one was injured.

The weather service reported that small streams and creeks in southeastern Pennsylvania were going over their banks Friday night. New York City’s airports experienced flight delays, and Connecticut reported numerous lane closures on highway as cars spun out amid heavy rain.

The rainy weather washed out events such as NASCAR’s Sprint Cup qualifying in Pennsylvania’s Poconos and MLB games in Washington, New York and Boston.

World War II Weekend: how to be a good German soldier in 3 easy steps

Don't call them NAZIS. That is the etiquette explained to me before I head to the German encampment.

Escaping the rain, William Reynolds, 25, in the midst of his reenactment of German soldiery, relaxes in his tent with his unit.Find a great selection of lululemonpants deals ! One thing you won't see in evidence in the German camp is swastikas or any other references to NAZIS. There are no pictures of Hitler nor is there a Mein Kamp to be found. Reynolds notes his interest in Germany's World War II army avoids as much as possible this aspect of the conflict. "The German military forces stuck out to me because of their professionalism and their advancements of technology and weaponry," Reynolds says.

Not that you can ever really separate the nature of the war from the German Army. "There are swastikas on our actual uniforms" Reynolds admits. "We just don't have them out because we don't want to..." His voice trails off, but the thought is clear especially to the descendant of Holocaust survivors who is interviewing him.Choose cheap hermesbags on ourwebsite and save your money for really qualitative and durable fake watches.

But there is another reason Reynolds gravitated to the German side. Every reenactment requires two armies, and being on the Allied side is a far more popular choice. "There were a lot of people doing GI stuff. I wanted to do something a little unique."

Being far younger than many of the others, Reynolds offers these tips for those his age who may consider reenacting.

1. "Have an open mind. There is a lot more than shoot 'em up. Some people may think we sit around praising NAZIS. We don't. That is not what this is about."

2. "If you are not learning something you aren't doing something right."

3. "Go ahead and do it. That is the main thing: get interested. It is a costly hobby but you don't have to have the nicest things right off the bat." Reynolds notes period uniforms are easily available on the Internet. And, often other reenactors will lend newbies equipment while they decide if this is for them.

Who benefits from the growth of complex and cumbersome regulation? The answer is: lawyers, not forgetting lobbyists and compliance departments. For complexity is not the friend of the little man. It is the friend of the deep pocket. It is the friend of cronyism.

We used to have the rule of law. Now it is tempting to say we have the rule of lawyers, which is something different. For the lawyers can also make money even in the absence of complex legislation.

It has long been recognized that the U.S. tort system is exceptionally expensive. Indeed, tort reform is something few people will openly argue against. Yet the plague of class-action lawsuits continues unabated. What's the Hoopla? How a Non-Believer Fell in Love With Wedding Dresses

I love weddings. What is there not to love about elaborate parties? Or adorable hors d'oeuvres? Or dancing all night after two people you may or may not know exchanged teary vows professing their undying love? There is, however,Buy cheap swiss replica watches online, it's a good place for man and lady to choose quality hermespurse. Enjoy yourself! one part in particular that I am drawn to the most. It's what author Anne Kingston calls a "frothy white bridal tsunami." It's all about the wedding dress.

For years now, I've allowed my brain to go off the deep end with its analysis of just about everything clothing related. I even went to grad school to satisfy my brain's craving to just get fashion.2013 Collection germanarmyuniforms 1672 Styles. I wouldn't call my focus on wedding dresses an obsession, but my therapist might. Over the past four years I've incessantly researched historical and contemporary wedding gowns. This past year, I did something that I thought would elicit faces strewn with horror and make all the men run away. I turned into a faux bride.

I likened my research to the phrase "walk a mile in their shoes." I needed to understand what about these dresses mesmerized women. So, I made a plan covering every detail. There was an engagement ring with an accompanying fake engagement story with a fake fiance. I even used pictures of me and a friend looking adorable as my home and lock screen backgrounds on my phone. My mother even flew in from California. (Full disclosure: She was already planning to be in New York when we made one of the shopping appointments.) My friends willingly volunteered to be my bridal party. With that, I was off to do what few sane single women do: I went wedding dress shopping.

What you must know is that I believe myself to be practical. Sure, I'll buy a random pair of shoes here or a spend a bit extra on dinner there. However, my thoughts regarding spending money on a dress you wear once usually veers in the direction of "Why on EARTH would I spend enough money on a dress that could buy me a [insert expensive object] or to put me through [insert number of years] in school or fly me to [insert exotic location]?" I've heard stories of women who save money for years for a dress, or buy their dresses without even being in a relationship. Had you brought this up to me six months ago, I'd rant about how absurd that is. Now? Well, read on.

I went to Kleinfeld's. You know, from Say Yes to the Dress. It's big. It's flashy.Find great deals on hotmkbags for businesssuit in Women's Clothing, Handbags and Purses. There's a lot of tulle. My goodness is there tulle... and lace, chiffon, taffeta, beading. You name it, they have it. I had been skeptical solely because of the show. I live in Williamsburg. Some call me a hipster. Kleinfeld's isn't what I'd expect to be my scene. But man, do they have some gorgeous dresses.

The stylist was fantastic. I felt like I was hanging out with my bestie. Her help alone made going to the store worthwhile. I tried on a dress with the most amazing deco-inspired beading that cost almost $10,000. One dress in particular, costing about $6,000, made me feel like a Grecian glamorous goddess with intricate pleating and blinged out cap sleeves -- a stunning work of art. I liked but didn't love the feel of the nine or so dresses, but the service made it mind-blowing. They customize every moment of the experience to your tastes.Fremont ralphlaurenhoody team sprint training. My "bridal party" loved seeing people from TV, and the spectacle of me coming out of the dressing room to model glamorous dresses. Due to their no-photographs policy, I have no images to share.

I also went to a small boutique called Lovely Bride in the heart of Greenwich Village. They had an well-curated collection of dresses on rolling racks free to be browsed. On one rack you could find a golden gown with intricately woven patterns, a simple cream sheath with a few pleats,Where can i get cartierreplicawatches? and a poofy, white frock with a skirt bigger than the island of Manhattan. They had both diversity and great taste.

AMS Fulfillment Plans Annual ‘Steal Deals’ At Warehouse

The store is offering up to 75 percent off its prices, according to company officials.

“When people walk in and start looking around the No. 1 reaction is to take out their cellphone and call their friends,” said Ken Wiseman, CEO of AMS Fulfillment.

The sale takes place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, and on Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“These sales are fun for us. We move so much product directly into stores and directly to consumers,Here you can take your pick from a wide selection of stunning heelshoes . but rarely do we have a chance to interface directly with the public,” Wiseman said.

An abundance of different footwear will be on sale. Accessories, jewelry, handbags and purses -- among many other items, will be available, as well.

“A lot of our clients have a product that they were interested in giving some really steal deals on, and so we started doing these warehouse sales,” Wiseman said.

Shoes from Australian designer brands Emu and Ukala will be there. The skateboarding brand C1RCA also will have apparel available.

Other brands offered are Luv Footwear and Closet Candy, among many others.

“These are companies that you’ve seen in retail and now you’re going to get 50-75 percent off prices that you normally would,” Wiseman said.

The building is located on 29010 Commerce Center Drive at Witherspoon Pkwy. The entrance is at the rear of their warehouse building.

“All my staff and staff friends are excited to work it. Oddly, they usually spend more money themselves than they make on the weekend,” Wiseman said.

The company recognizes that leasing a building can be a long-term commitment.Sale cheap bridalgown online, white, black, berry, Graphite canada goose victoria parka hot sale. While some companies are growing quickly, others are downsizing. They mitigate both the growth and the downsizing.

Yesterday the NFL announced that it has extended its deal with Verizon Wireless for the right to carry games and highlights over mobile phones. Verizon, according to Sports Business Daily, will pay the NFL $1 billion over four years. And for the first time, the carrier will offer live access to CBS (CBS) and Fox (NWS) Sunday afternoon games. The agreement raises the ceiling for mobile video rights, reaffirms the supremacy of the NFL in U.S. sports,So take a glance at five popular captoesandals Parka designs. and, as SBD notes, “obliterate[s] the distinction between sponsor and media-rights deals.” It also seeks to draw a bright line between mobile phones and tablets.

The league, in a bid to protect its broadcast and cable partners, will limit Verizon Wireless to mobile phones and not allow it to stream games to tablets. This puts the NFL in the unenviable position of deciding which is which as wireless devices proliferate in every size, from Biblical scroll to a pack of cigarettes. What about the iPad mini? Or Samsung Electronics’ (005930) 5-inch Galaxy? Or its forthcoming Galaxy Mega 6.3? Or Note 8.0? Or the PadFone from Asustek Computer (2357)? Is a fone a phone?

Thomas Garrett: Dealing with sexual assault behind the olive-drab curtain

It was the generals getting chewed out Tuesday on Capital Hill, and rightly so. They’d been called on the carpet to account for the apparent increase, or at least higher visibility, of sexual assaults within the military.

This is another of those “dirty little secrets” that used to be kept hidden behind the olive-drab curtain, except the secret’s out now as more women have gone public with the treatment they’ve endured at the hands of those who should be their brothers in arms.

The Armed Services Committee called the top brass before it to answer questions about why there is a surge in sexual assaults and why the military hasn’t taken effective steps to curb it. “Sexual assault and harassment are like a cancer within the force — a cancer that left untreated will destroy the fabric of our force,” Army Gen.Work a crowd in this evening gown from germanuniforms. Ray Odierno told the committee.

In fact,Welcome to wholesalebeads online, we supply most popular and valuable wholesale products. the generals and Pentagon lawyers pretty much agreed that it’s a problem that’s rending at the very fabric of the military. You could say so when there are such incidents as more than 30 training instructors and drill sergeants at Lackland Air Force Base being disciplined in a sexual assault scandal. Or when a sergeant at West Point is accused of secretly videotaping female cadets in the showers.

It’s even more disturbing when the officer in charge of the Air Force’s sexual assault prevention program is arrested — for sexual assault.

These are just some of the stories coming to light.

A big part of the problem in the military undoubtedly reflects the same problem that exists in the civilian world — the attitudes some men have toward women. Even in the early years of the 21st century,Top 10 Hairstyles For authenticjackets. there unfortunately remains a fair amount of Neanderthal thinking about the role of women in society. Too many men still consider women to be here to answer at their beck and call,Cheap coolerbag top quality online,100% authentic guarantee. to respond to their wants and desires, either willingly or unwillingly. Should women be unwilling, well, in that primitive mindset it’s just too bad; they’ll just take what they want by force, or coercion.

In the military, with its structure, rank and hierarchy of power, even the strongest of women can be especially vulnerable to such archaic attitudes. More so than in civilian life, their futures and careers depend upon their superior officers. If those officers look the other way or sweep incidents under the proverbial rug, or, even worse, use their rank and power to take advantage themselves, where do women go for justice and protection?

This is particularly thorny when you consider there still are many, many in the military who haven’t accepted women into their ranks and don’t want them there in any role beyond nurse or secretary. Some may even see this as the women paying their nickels and taking their chances by entering the military because, to them, it’s a man’s world. Sexual assault is just another factor of life in uniform, or so they think.

Congress and the military are looking at alternatives to deal with the problem of sexual assaults. While some in the military are open to changing the Uniform Code of Military Justice — as recommended by Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel — they still want authority left in the hands of the commanders, giving them the ultimate power in such cases. Unfortunately, that power extends to overturning disciplinary action, which was done by an Air Force general for a pilot convicted of sexual assault.

In Congress, there’s a proposal by U.S. Sen Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., to remove commanders from the process of deciding what serious cases — including sexual assault — go to trial. Judgment in those cases would rest with trial counsels who are colonels or higher in rank and who have prosecutorial experience. It would be similar to processes used by the British,Cheap authentichandbags 2013 new arrival ! Israeli and German military. Mrs. Gillibrand’s legislation has 18 co-sponsors.

What's Behind The BrandZ Top 100 Ranking And Seemingly Unbeatable Apple

Strong brands impact much more than revenues and profit margins: They can drive competitive advantage, command a price premium and bolster a company’s resilience to crises. The intense competition among the most valuable brands in some of the categories in the 2013 Millward Brown Optimor BrandZ Top 100 ranking – released today – affirms the impact a brand’s strength has on its value, with the fiercest battles won by those that combine solid financial performance with great brand equity.

In personal care, L’Oreal leapfrogged Gillette and Colgate with a 30% rise in value to become the most valuable brand in this category– all three are worth between $17 and $18 billion, so competition was tight. L’Oreal successfully introduced new, higher-performing products to tempt customers away from private label, including “cosmeceuticals,” which combine cosmetic and medical benefits to appeal to consumers’ desire for products that multitask. The brand continues to be a leader in research and innovation, creating high quality products that give it an attractive product portfolio, which is customized to the local market.

Gillette continued to target younger men in an effort to convert new, life-long customers, and received one of the highest scores among all personal care brands for Brand Contribution – a measure of brand equity based on customer sentiment.Find the perfect rolexshop photos and be inspired for your Meanwhile, Colgate’s healthy brand value growth of 15% was not quite enough for it to maintain its number two spot.A turquoisebeads is the most formal female attire for social occasions. Despite an intensely competitive environment, and already having a high global penetration, Colgate increased its market share over the last year, and its brand strength was a facilitator of that growth.

The battle for the top is also driving change in the car sector. Toyota has overtaken BMW to regain its position as the world’s most valuable car brand, increasing its value 12% to $24 billion, after its strong brand helped it recover from a number of product recalls in 2009 and 2010. It has a value proposition that people really want, offering luxury features on an affordable, environmentally conscious car.

With a significant value increase of 60% in the last year, Zara now stands in front of Nike as the most valuable apparel brand. Fast fashion is in, and the Spanish brand has consistently delivered, while expanding its business to children, men and even home decor.

It’s long been expected that online brands will eventually gain supremacy over their brick-and-mortar rivals, and Amazon’s beating of Walmart to become the most valuable retail brand – worth $46 billion, a growth of 34% – may suggest this is happening. As well as having a compelling, consistently-executed promise, Amazon makes itself available wherever customers are – even establishing a brick-and-mortar presence with its Amazon lockers, self-service delivery locations allowing customers to collect parcels ordered online. Walmart delivers well, too, and has grown its value 5% to $36 billion,Has anyone brought a beadsfactory?‎ but in China, a strategic market, its performance is challenged by the fact that consumers prefer to buy from local markets and shops. Regardless of whether they started as online or brick-and-mortar businesses, retail brands can no longer rely solely on their core channels to market their products, and the most valuable brands in coming years will be those that recognize they need to be present at all possible touchpoints in consumers’ lives.

There are insurgent brands in a number of categories that have the potential to catch up with the leaders in the next few years. You'll be the queen of the room in this ssuniform evening gown.

There is clarity about what their brand stands for – positioning, message and values – with a value proposition that’s communicated powerfully and consistently. All of the top risers have a distinctive brand personality, which is more likely to generate passion and create brand advocates.
